True Or False?

pope_francisSo, here I am expecting blow-back over my Christian conversion and instead I get emails criticizing my misuse of verb tense.  I have to laugh, because I can criticize my own writing to no end.  So my writing style is different than what most English teachers try to impart to their students- do they even teach writing in school anymore?  Just asking.  For me, creating an outline has always been stressful- too much forward thinking involved; I like to dive in and revise as I go.  My introduction may be three paragraphs in and my conclusions strewn about here and there.  I do jump around between points and my posts have a tendency to stretch into essays, but I wonder if anyone out there is actually reading them in an attempt to understand what is being said, or are people more interested in skimming through with a red pen?  For eyes that grow weary at the sight of walls of text, I will be launching my own YouTube channel soon and producing short, easily digestible video reports, but my lengthy blog posts are here to stay!

It may seem haphazard how I go about putting together a post, but there is a guiding force behind it.  I spend a good portion of my day listening to interviews, sermons, news and music.  I attempt to read the Scriptures daily.  I observe the unfolding events around me.  For days, sometimes weeks, I ponder what I should write about next.  I often do not know ahead of time, even at the point where I sit down at the computer and start writing, what the focus of an article will be.  Then, I start to see connections.  Or rather, the connections start to appear, as  I do not credit myself alone with this insight, I have only taken up the task of cultivating the ground.  I feel called to share these connections with you.  That is what One American is all about.

This is not Rolling Stone.  A trend these days is for people to be contrary to anything widely accepted as good or normal, just for the sake of being contrary.  Sunsets at the beach are cliché, but somehow Jimmy Buffet is cool.  Huh?  You probably had a friend like this; Johnny Cash is the man when everyone else is listening to Snoop Dogg, but as others discover Johnny Cash, suddenly he becomes overrated and they move on to Miles Davis.  Or, if they are feeling particularly adventurous, they chase after hipster nirvana, a detached state achieved by complete immersion in obscure crap.  I find humor in watching them stumble from one trend to the next as they attempt to outpace the hordes of other arrogant, bearded clones.  The trouble is, they are quickly joined by the masses, because they are not exceptional at all, they are just tools like everyone else, advertising their “uniqueness” to the world through external adornments and peculiar associations.  With God absent from their lives, their sense of self is distorted.  This mental illness has its root in a desire for adoration; in the extreme, you could say worship.

You’re not hip, you’re Megyn Kelly.  The FOX News host, appearing on the O’Reilly Factor last year asserted, “Some things do require the involvement of Big Brother,” when asked a question about mandatory vaccinations.  How bold!  A good number of these miserable creatures have made their way into the world of journalism and author blogs of lesser significance.  Seriously, if you want to study the effects of mind control on the younger generation, just search: random thoughts and blog.  Talk about a lack of vision.  So, if you are just joining us, One American promises to keep the pop-culture references to a minimum and you wont find any snarky liberalism here.  The mainstream press may thrive on shock and sensationalism and faux controversy, but the real revolutionary was Jesus; the world put Him to death on a cross.

The weak-minded fall for the lies of collectivism, feminism, progressivism, atheism, humanism, etc. but it is all unified in Satanism, which places man at the center of creation instead of God.  But this sort of behavior is not exclusive to non-believers. There are a lot of self-righteous people out there who think because they claim to follow Jesus, they should go about wearing sandals and speaking in a gentle, breathy voice.  Or, they believe they must adopt the trappings of teen culture to evangelize the youth.  Please.  Once, before I became a believer, I was stalked in a Walgreens by some dude who looked like Fred Durst (it’s ok if you don’t remember Limp Bizkit) with his baseball cap on backwards.  He cut through the isles and made a direct line to me.  “Jesus loves you,” he blurted.  “Yeah whatever,” I replied.  My point?  Stop being stupid, bro.  People- young people- are starving for the Word of God.  They will respond to the Truth.  They are looking to the Christian community hoping to find something different in us.  Christians should stand out, not blend in.

Does God want me to grow this blog into a ministry?  Is it the Holy Spirit guiding me?  How do I know?  A pastor may find fault with my fledgling understanding of Scripture or prophecy and that is ok, because this blog is for you, the patriot, the seeker, the sinner, the newly awakened, the new Christian.  I suspect there are a lot of ordinary folks like myself in need of the same ministering I received.  Does the Lord desire to use One American to fill a gap not reached by the televangelists and alternative Christian media?  All of us should be asking the Lord what He wishes to accomplish in our lives.  This helps us ensure our motivations and behaviors are in alignment with His will.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

[1 John 4:1-3]

The antichrist spirit that is described here by John was already at work in his time (the first epistle of John is believed to have been written between 89-95 A.D.).  Its influence has ebbed and flowed in direct proportion to our solidarity in Jesus Christ ever since the crucifixion.  As the late minister Derek Prince pointed out in his sermons on True and False Christ, “anti” means “against” and “in place of.”  Meaning, the antichrist opposes Christ (the Messiah) and serves as a substitute for Christ.

Nearly two-thousand years later and its hard to argue that the spirit of antichrist is not rampant in the world, indeed, it is everywhere and, tragically, even sanctioned within the Church.  According to the catechism of the Catholic Church, Muslims are included in the plan of salvation because of their belief in the God of Abraham [Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 841].  In an address from 2013, Pope Francis praised Muslims who worship the “one God.”  This notion is directly contradicted by numerous Scriptures, including the above passage from 1 John.  Muslims do not worship the true and living God.  They do not believe Jesus to be the Messiah, they have their own messiah- the Mahdi.  They do not believe Jesus to be the Son of God, but merely a prophet setting the stage for Muhammad, the last prophet.  They do not believe Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins.  Completely absent from Islam in fact, is the Resurrection and the concept of redemption.  These are teachings at the very core of Christianity.  How is it possible that the Pope can make such a statement?  Why do Catholic apologists line up in defense of the Pope’s increasingly disturbing proclamations when they are clearly not based in the Gospel of Jesus Christ?  We cannot value kind words over the truth.  Muhammad did not rise from the dead.  The Qur’an is a counterfeit of the Holy Scriptures, stripped of all its essential and redeeming truth.  Islam is both a religion and a political ideology of the antichrist spirit.  The Pope is not their leader, his role is to tranquilize the Church with deceptive doctrines of global unity.  He is a false prophet; whether he is the False Prophet spoken of in Revelation remains to be seen.

These lies are echoed by the likes of Rick Warren and others seeking to diffuse tension by focusing on religious similarities rather than differences.  The trend is to lump Judaism, Christianity and Islam together as “the three great monotheistic religions,” promoting the idea that it does not matter which path you follow.  Others in the New Age movement lie about the nature of God and Jesus.  They bypass the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ needed for salvation and teach that we can become one with God; all that is required is that we attune ourselves to the proper frequency.  All this squirming around is not a quest for spiritual truth, but rather, a cheap compromise.  The Word is the Rock.  Everything else is just… concrete.  It is philosophy, humanism and ethics, poured into a man-made mold, casting the blasphemous pillars of Babylon The Great.

Satan is a counterfeiter.  Just as a counterfeit bill is not obvious except upon closer analysis, Satanic deception is not always obvious.  That is the nature of deception.  If Satan came directly to you, twisted into a hideous form by sin, and revealed the true nature of his plan, you would run.  Remember though, the Bible describes Lucifer as the most beautiful and talented of the angels [Ezekiel 28].  Those who worship him today, the Illuminus, make war with God; like cunning salesmen, they market peace, harmony, knowledge and immortality.  They even claim to be Christian in many instances and operate with stealth at high levels in the Church.  In this way, they have sought to ensure their acceptance and go about their corrupting from within.  The Word of God is like a counterfeit pen used to detect fake currency.

There is the spirit of antichrist, and then there is the Antichrist.  There are many false prophets and false prophecies and then there is the False Prophet.  Just as the Spirit of God was made manifest in a man, Jesus Christ, the Satanic counter-force, the antichrist spirit of deception and rebellion is coalescing to manifest in the person of the Antichrist.  His regime is supported by the False Prophet [Revelation 19:20].  Although there is considerable speculation about who these individuals are or if they have even been born yet, one thing is clear: God remains in control!

I have to remember this when I lament the crumbling of the foundations, when I try to understand how we have become so deceived, when I try to wrap my mind around the reckless and foolish manner in which our leadership has cast aside all reason, all sanity, all integrity- hurling our once great nation into the fire.  All these things must come to pass before the end.   If they must come to pass, how can we stop it?  It is futility, but not futility without hope.  We are under judgement.  We can sit back and blame Bush or Obama or Ryan, but they have been sent a delusion.  They have been instituted to bring about our judgement.  Apathy amongst the people is a direct result of the absence of the Gospel in their lives.  Therefore, instead of focusing on political change, we need to focus on our own relationship with Jesus first and foremost.

I do not mean we should withdraw completely from our civic duty.  We may be able to slow the nation’s decent into mayhem with our votes, but our focus as members of the Church should be turning hearts towards Jesus.  Remember, we are in the world, but not of the world.  To go about championing Donald Trump or Ted Cruz as saviors is foolish.  We should seek to elect statesmen, people who will uphold our Constitution and who honor God as chief covenant-maker.  In a harmonious environment, civic enterprise radiates our acceptance as stewards and our commandment to love one another is witnessed by the unbelievers.  The system is broken because we are broken, if we have not been made whole again in Jesus.  The world is looking for the “good” Christians without recognizing that Christians are fallen human beings, redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb.  It is only the Truth that has transformative power.  Unlike the world prior to Jesus, ours is an apostate world, having rejected the message of Christ.  There is a new evangelization; it is not set against a pagan world, but a Satanic one.

With most of the world already in tow, Satan focuses much of his energy on crafting schemes against the Church.  As Christians, we should expect this and learn to spot the serpent engineer behind the curtain.  As a new Christian, I found myself especially disheartened over a recent schism that developed over Christmas concerning a Christian doctor mixing New Age teachings into his healing message during an interview on a popular Christian talk-radio program.  The doctor’s errant use of terms like “chakra” and “third eye” as well as repeated assertions that God inhabits the “13th dimension” caught the ear of a pastor, who sought to contact the doctor about the matter privately by phone; the doctor became defensive and hung up.  These ideas are not based in Christianity, but are centered in Hinduism (chakras) and the so-called Christ Consciousness movement, which teaches that Jesus is just one of numerous “ascended masters” or human beings who became gods.  In a separate interview, the doctor made an outrageous claim that the fetal Jesus was a clone placed in the womb of Mary and did not possess any of her DNA.  In other words, Jesus was not born of woman- a direct contradiction of the Word [Galatians 4:4].  Jesus is fully God and fully man [Revelation 1: 17-18].  If this were not the case, his suffering and death would not have been possible.

In an audio exposé, the pastor sought to explain his motivation for withdrawing from a Christian conference occurring in Dallas this spring where the doctor was also invited to speak.  A firestorm of threats and personal attacks quickly grew to dwarf the original dispute, as followers took sides.  Instead of admitting his errors, the doctor moved to save face with an insincere apology that misrepresented the pastor and his claims.  The pastor accused the radio show host of threatening a lawsuit over his use of audio clips from the program to defend his position.

As a new kid on the block, I am hardly qualified to weigh in on this issue, but I wonder if these individuals realize just how damaging to the cause of Christianity these disputes are.  It rattled my faith, because I consider this radio show to be instrumental in my Christian conversion.  However, as I researched developments in this conflict, I came across several blogs bashing all the parties involved, accusing the watchmen of fear-mongering in order to sell precious metals and survival gear- a common criticism against Christians with a message of preparedness which I find no merit in.  In other words, there are more than enough attacks coming from the outside as it is.

It is my understanding that this spat has since been resolved, for which I am thankful. One thing I know for certain, God takes us through the fire, in order that we might be purified by it.  In my estimation, this fire quickly got out of hand because the various individuals involved, instead of seeking the counsel of Jesus, sought instead after their own preservation.  This spawned deception and animosity among brothers.  The parties involved scrambled to save their reputations and advertising dollars instead of humbling themselves before the Lord and one another.  Smoothing things over and deflecting responsibility is not the same as confessing wrongdoing.  The purification fire can quickly turn into a consuming fire if we are not following the lead of Jesus Christ.

When it comes to the alternative Christian media, I think there is a lot of pressure to distinguish oneself as an expert possessing special knowledge, whether the focus is giants or UFOs or prophecy or numerology, etc.  But we are all brothers and sisters in Christ; we must be open to rebuke when we stray and foreign ideas are introduced.  Many new Christians like myself have come in from the world of the occult, witchcraft and mysticism and easily recognize that language when we hear it.  I understand the allure.  For me, the most powerful Christian message is simply this- repentance and being born again in Jesus Christ.  We must be careful not to speak when we do not know all the facts.  I too considered rattling off a few emails when I learned of all this.  Thankfully, I did not have the time to do so.  It’s easy to get caught up in the snares of the Devil; it’s predictable because it all goes back to Genesis.  Our hope as sinners, to escape, is in Jesus, not the campaigns of man.

Carry on.

Resident Evil

obama_toastDecember 2015 and One American is just now declaring the Resident of the White House to be an agent of evil?  A little late you say?  Of course many of us have known for some time that the Resident is not who he claims to be. For me, this realization came a few months after he took office in 2009.  I naively cast my vote for Obama in 2008; my “hope” was that he would reverse the disastrous course we embarked upon under Bush Jr. with a return to Constitutional authority.  My enthusiasm quickly withered.  Not only did Obama fail to reconcile the embarrassments of Guantanamo Bay, Abu Ghraib and Iraq, he continued trampling the Constitution, tightening the grip of the federal government and anointing the executive branch with unprecedented power.  He greatly expanded the surveillance capabilities of the intelligence community, recruiting corporate partners to ensure all our data could be mined and shared.  He oversaw the introduction of enhanced screening procedures by the TSA and the militarization of our local police departments.  While scaling back our military overseas, he has continued a foreign policy centered on regime change, creating more upheaval and bitter animosity towards America.  And then there is the ACA, written by the insurance companies and engineered to squash the middle class.  Shall I continue?  We still have a year of Obama to endure (assuming the 2016 elections go as scheduled and he relinquishes his throne).  I suspect he will attempt to use his last year of residency to totally decimate what is left of the Republic.

His suspicious remarks started early in his brief political career and continued throughout his presidential campaign.  But now in 2015 he simply cannot open his mouth without vomiting on the American people.  Indeed, it is his most recent hurl of treasonous statements that has prompted me to finally formulate this post.  Regarding the legitimate concern over Syrian refugees entering the U.S. following the terrorist attacks in Paris, Obama had this to say during an appearance in the Philippines, “The idea that somehow they pose a more significant threat than all the tourists who pour into the United States every single day just doesn’t jive with reality… So my expectation is after the initial spasm of rhetoric, the people will settle down, take a look at the facts, and we’ll be able to proceed.”

But the facts are clear.  The FBI has admitted the vetting process for refugees is critically flawed.  During a recent House Committee on Homeland Security hearing, FBI director James Comey stated, “We can only query against that which we have collected… so if someone has never made a ripple in the pond in Syria in a way that would get their identity or their interest reflected in our database, we can query our database until the cows come home, but… there will be nothing [that] show[s] up because we have no record of that person.”

Obama really thinks the American people are stupid, see?  He thinks you are unaware of the fact that Europe is in crisis as the borders of several nations are overrun with ungrateful and belligerent Muslim “refugees.”  We should ignore the fact that ISIS has specifically said they will exploit the refugee crisis to smuggle their terrorists into Europe and America. This is why we are screwed.  The governments of the West fostered al-Qaeda and ISIS, in the same way they fostered the Mujahideen in Afghanistan during the 1980s to repel the Soviets.  This makes it kinda hard, morally, to turn the flood of refugees away, being that we are primarily responsible for their displacement.  We should welcome these “widows and orphans” with open arms because this policy worked so wonderfully for Sweden and Germany, right?  Most of these widows and orphans are young men, in good health, sporting Aeropostal and Nike who somehow managed to pocket their smartphones and iPods while desperately fleeing ISIS.  Right.  The men have gone off to war; the soon-to-be widows and orphans are back in Syria and Iraq.  And what of the militant cells that are already present within our borders, like the Muslim couple who allegedly killed fourteen people in San Bernadino, California three weeks ago?  What about our unsecured southern border?  Why have an immigration policy at all?  Your concerns are unwarranted.  Shame on you, racist!

Obama is risking alienating all but the most schizoid totalitarians in his liberal base.  The ultimate goal here is not to provide safe haven for desperate refugees, but to incite conflict and unrest.  This insidious plan cannot be easily carried out while the citizens of America continue to possess firearms.  On the heels of the San Bernadino attack, Obama’s long standing goal of disarming the American people is finally taking shape, with his announcement from the Oval Office that your Constitutional right to keep and bear arms will be infringed if your name somehow lands on the the no-fly list.  And what earns you a spot on this list?  Apparently not links to terrorism, but maybe you have expressed your dislike of the Obama regime on Facebook or you operate a Tea Party website or you work for the Department of Homeland Security, who has seventy-two employees on the list, according to a Congressional investigation conducted back in August!  In other words, this list can get really long, really fast without any requirement of due process.

Let me say this- and this may burn some conservatives who read this blog- but Obama is not a Muslim.  It is critical that we all understand this.  I can certainly see how he might be perceived as a Muslim and there are many in the conservative and alternative media who continue to make this claim.  Call it elementary, but the Resident is a strong supporter of abortion, feminism and gay rights.  He eats pork and drinks alcohol.  Muslims condemn all these things.  I suppose I am assuming a degree of fidelity within Islam which is not warranted; after all, Muslims are permitted to lie if it furthers the cause of Islam.  Controlling the most powerful political office on Earth would certainly allow for copious fabrication under Islam.  If he is a Muslim, perhaps he is an operative for the Saudis and his liberal politics are simply a disguise.  Er… maybe.  Muslim leaders around the world can simply look the other way as Barry, in his best ghetto slang demands, “Give me some of them ribs.”

It is true that non-Muslims are not given equal treatment under Islam. There are several verses in the Qu’ran and the Hadiths, which sanction deceit, theft, rape, slavery and killing when perpetrated against non-believers or those who make war with Muslims.  Obama has no reservations about slaughtering innocent Muslims though, whether it be in Pakistan or Yemen or Libya or Iraq.  All we must do is examine the life of Muhammad to understand the questionable way in which Muslims are expected to conduct themselves.  I charge that the ruling class in Islamic societies are hypocrites and criminals anyway, living lives of decadence while their people are kept in a position of servitude. Behind closed doors, they do not adhere to Islam’s prohibitions and regularly partake in prostitution, gambling and drug use.  It would seem that ISIS would align themselves against the corrupt House of Saud, yet, it is Sunni wahhabism cultivated in Saudi Arabia with the cooperation of the West that is responsible for the majority of Islamic terrorism around the world.  ISIS, al-Qaeda, Boko-Haram and the Taliban are all militant Sunni groups.

Consider that despite all of Obama’s aid and comfort to the Islamists, they still want to cut his head off and put it on a stake, as CEO of the American infidels.  Although Obama claims to be Christian, his fruits indicate otherwise.  So, if he is not a Muslim and not a Christian, who or what is he?  I surmise that he is godless, which is far more dangerous.  And I am well aware of Barack Hussein Obama’s Islamic upbringing, his ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and his comments supporting Muslims, but he is more accurately a Muslim sympathizerHis true allegiance is to the globalist New World Order, who are currently using Islam to destroy the current world order.  This is plain to me.  Although not a practicing Muslim himself, he allies himself with them, protecting and defending them every step of the way.  He deflects criticism against Islam.  He denies the very idea of Islamic terrorism, claiming the actions of militant wahhabists have nothing to do with the “peaceful” religion of Islam.

I am aware that there are many peaceful Muslims; there are many in the United States who fear ISIS and also wish to see our borders closed.  Imagine that.  There is a perception that ISIS and other militant Islamist groups have twisted the message of Islam to justify their violence.  In reality though, the Islamic State promotes fundamentalist Islam.  Murtadd is the Arabic term for an apostate in Islam.  It can apply to Muslims who have rejected Islam or those who refuse to follow the prescriptions of the Islamic faith, such as the requirement of women to wear hijab when in public.  This applies to most “moderate” American Muslims.

To be fair, Islam is not one unified, monolithic religion.  Within Islam there is considerable debate over whether coercion is authorized in the conversion of non-believers.  There is debate amongst Islamic scholars regarding areas of contradiction between the Qu’ran and the Hadiths (sayings of the prophet Muhammad).  Some of the Hadiths are believed to be more authentic than others.  Sunnis and Shiites have made war with each other for centuries over the proper succession of power following the death of Muhammad in 632 A.D.  This is not unlike the debate between various Christian sects regarding apostolic succession, apocryphal texts, baptism, etc.  The difference is that the message of Jesus Christ does not include calls for violence against his enemies.  In fact, the opposite is true:

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

[Matthew 5: 43-45]

We must accurately discern the unseen enemy behind the scenes in order to understand the larger agenda.  All of this deception is to the detriment of the Judaeo-Christian nations of the West, including the last stronghold, America.  We must remember, Satan is the Great Deceiver.  His goal is to destroy all mankind.  The New World Order is the world government of Satan.  As we approach the Great Tribulation, Satan infiltrates every tier of human civilization.  Confusion and deception are hallmarks of Satan’s influence.  Our government tells us we are in Syria and Iraq fighting ISIS, but we are actually supporting ISIS and other Islamist rebel groups seeking to oust Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.  At the same time, we condemn Russia and the Syrian government, who are actually fighting ISIS and defending Christians, Jews and groups of minority Muslims.  It is overt propaganda.

The general policy of the United States over the past two decades has been to uproot key Muslim dictators that were once supported by the West and provided an environment of relative stability in those regions. Why the change in foreign policy?  Because, by increasing degrees, the government of the United States has been captured and controlled by globalists.  The globalist agenda supersedes American foreign policy.  It circumvents the Constitution.  It does not acknowledge the rights of the American citizen.  It will use whatever means necessary to set the world ablaze with terror, so that we turn to them for salvation.  In order to get this firestorm going, Saddam Hussein (Iraq), Muammar Gaddafi (Libya) and Hosni Mubarak (Egypt) had to be dealt with. And now the target is squarely on the back of Bashar al-Assad in Syria.  That does not mean these are the good guys, think of it like a great white shark devouring a school of barracuda.  They represent the old, corrupt world order; they are an obstacle to the new, vastly more brutal and demonic New World Order.

So, here is my timeline: 1) NWO wrestles control from the governments of the West, including E.U. and N.A.T.O. alliances (Britain, France, Germany and U.S.) and uses subversive means to create violent uprisings (Arab Spring) across the region.  Despotic leaders are toppled, creating a power vacuum.  In the West, this is portrayed as a democratic revolt, in order to generate sympathy for the Islamists.  Terrorists are called “protesters” and “freedom fighters.” Economic and security concerns draw other world powers (Russia, China, Iran) into the conflict.  2) Hosts of militant Islamic groups battle for control on the ground, each looking to lead a new caliphate.  As the Islamic State spreads and grows more powerful, more Muslim groups line up behind them, because they are seen as the most viable vehicle for conquest against the imperialist powers.  3) As destruction and chaos spread, a refugee crisis develops, which becomes a second front, as it is used to infiltrate the Western nations, undermine their culture and cripple them through terrorism.  Why is it that Saudi Arabia and the wealthy Gulf states (Qatar, U.A.E., Kuwait, Bahrain) have taken on zero refugees?  4) Only when the caliphate has enough muscle will it seek to overthrow the Saudi monarchy and threaten Israel, Europe, Russia and the United States.  Understand, the goal is not a military defeat, the goal is to draw us into a fractured global war, while they continue their campaign of terrorism inside our borders.  This is to weaken us economically, psychologically and spiritually, to the point where we finally give in to globalist domination.  When the New World Order has no more use for Islam, the Muslims will also become targets for elimination.

While it is clearly in the best interest of all to maintain stability in the Middle East, it is not in the best interest of the global elites, who are trying to play the last remaining super powers off each other to their mutual destruction.  Russians, to their credit, seem to understand the larger plot against them.  The entire civilized world should stand in solidarity against the threat of militant Islam, as that would derail the NWO plan to destroy national sovereignty and install their one-world system.  The fact that we are instead seeing implausible alliances, chaos and mayhem, lies and deception, points to the true architect of global domination- Satan himself!  Call him out!

Of course, it would be wrong to place all the blame for our situation on the current Resident.  It is the power of the executive office that is out of balance.  Our representatives spend their time on Capitol Hill turning in symbolic votes that serve merely to define their political image for the next election.  Legislative authority is being snatched up by the executive and judicial branches outside of law.  Obama is an empty shell and whether he acknowledges it or not, a tool of Satan.  How else can you explain the complete lack of integrity and accountability from his administration?  Deceitful, reckless and devoid of leadership, the Resident and his cohort John Kerry were rebuked once again by the Pentagon over the situation in Syria.  Perhaps it is because his semantics are not fooling anyone anymore.  Perhaps we’re not holding the winning deck, folks.

There is a warning here.  Just as we elected Bush Jr. as a reaction to Clinton’s scandalous behavior, and elected Obama as a reaction to Bush’s ineptness and war-mongering, we now stand to elect a potential strongman in Donald Trump as a reaction to Obama’s spineless treason.  The important question is, are we going to continue the trend of trashing our Constitution, by handing over our trust to another egocentric executive?  And it’s not that Trump is wrong on the issues, but we must understand how they use our emotions, our anger, our fear, our guilt, even our sense of charity to bring forth their plans.  All of this is orchestrated.  Who does this describe?  As if the terms Democrat and Republican mean anything anymore.  Obama is only the current Resident, but evil is lurking everywhere.  Put your faith in God first, then we must insist on restoring the integrity of our Constitutional Republic.

Principalities And Powers

automatic_writingOn the morning of November 13th, my wife had a dream. I have grown accustomed to this, as my dear wife has dreamed many an insightful dream over the years and sometimes these turn out to be predictive of future events. Ever since she was a child, she has been gifted with enhanced intuitive abilities and a special awareness of the spirit world. For those who think there is no Biblical foundation for extra-sensory perception and that all such things are of the Devil, I would argue that they are conflating witchcraft and necromancy with the visionary gift of the Holy Spirit.  Whether or not the Holy Spirit inspired my wife’s dream, we both understand these are gifts from the Lord, to be used for the purposes of the Lord, not as mediumship or fortune-telling and certainly not for profit. In addition to the prophets of the Bible like Ezekiel, Daniel, Isaiah, John, etc. it is said in the Book of Joel:

And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions…

[Joel 2:28]

For a week leading up to November 13th, my wife kept telling me she had a strong sense that something terrible was about to take place. I remember we were in the movie theater watching Spectre, the latest James Bond installment, when she was first overcome with this feeling of dread.  She heard a voice say, “In a few days.”  As it turned out, November 13th was the night of the deadly terrorist attacks in Paris, which ISIS has since claimed credit for. That was not what her dream was about however. Earlier that morning while I was away at work, she had a dream that our family moved back to California:

It did not occur to her immediately that the house we moved into was my childhood home in the East Bay.  She described the wood paneling and dark green carpeting throughout (our house was built in 1972). Interestingly, my wife never saw the inside of my home and plus, my parents had remodeled most of it in the eighties and nineties and by the time I had even met my wife, that paneling and carpeting was long gone. She described it as somewhat dark inside. In the dream, I had ventured off somewhere and she was alone with our daughter. She went outside and it was then that she recognized where she was. She described a very old, partially uprooted tree in the front yard.

When she went back inside, she felt a presence there with her. She began to hear a dark, evil voice coming from the hallway saying, “Come with me.” In the dream, my wife became afraid and felt that she had to be strong because I was not home. She looked across the room and observed a notebook, with a pen writing something all on its own. When she approached the notebook, she grabbed the pen out of mid air and thought that if she tried to communicate with “it” the activity might calm down. She said to this presence, “That’s really nice, that looks really good, good job.” When she looked to see what was written in the notebook though, it was just a series of scrawled out X’s.

At that point, everything started shaking and rattling. My wife realized it was an earthquake and instinctively went to cover our daughter with her body, to shield her. Taking advantage of her vulnerable position, the entity started slapping and beating her repeatedly across her back. The shaking became more intense and violent. On the television someone confirmed there was an earthquake in the Bay Area and urged people to take cover. Eventually the shaking stopped. Car alarms were going off and she heard neighbors talking outside. She grabbed our daughter and went outside again. The tree in the front yard had been uprooted even more. A woman approached her and told her it was a 6.7 magnitude quake and that one of the bridges had collapsed into the water (by comparison, the Loma Prieta quake of 1989 was a 7.1 magnitude quake and caused a great deal of damage, including a portion of the upper deck of the Bay Bridge collapsing).

She didn’t feel comfortable outside, so she went back inside. While watching the news, she heard the evil voice again say, “Come with me. Come here. Come to me.” She looked at our daughter and decided then that she needed to leave. She looked over again and saw the notebook with the pen writing on its own. When she looked, it had written “F— you!” and “F— off!” over and over. While the entity kept talking and moving around her, she snatched up our daughter and whatever things she could and fled the house.

Is my wife’s dream predicting a 6.7 magnitude quake in the Bay Area? Not necessarily. What is significant is the fact that as my wife was at home having this nightmare, I was at work listening to a series of sermons entitled The Enemies We Face from the late minister Derek Prince on my iPod. In response to my questions about the Catholic Church, Steve Quayle urged me to look up Derek Prince’s YouTube channel and watch the videos there. I had been extracting the audio from the videos and listening to them while working. It just so happens that in the Enemies series, Prince discusses the angel Lucifer, who rebels against God to become Satan the adversary. One of the key things I learned from this sermon was the fact that the kingdom of Satan has an organization. Just as all the angels had specific duties and assignments under God, so too do the fallen angels under Satan. In other words, like angels in service of the Lord, the fallen angels are also charged with rulership over a specific region, nation, ethnic group, person, etc. upon the Earth.

If you recall in my post This Is A Call (Part One), I discussed the ritualistic way in which I prepared for my late-night, drug-induced writing and recording sessions. These sessions took place in my bedroom, in the same house my wife visited in her dream. During some of these sessions, I performed automatic writing with a notebook and pen, where I would attempt to connect with my own subconscious and allow it to write, theoretically without the hindrance of my conscious mind. At one time, I had a notebook full of scrawled out, mostly nonsensical messages. I would also frequently crank up my music while high (I had a 50-disc changer, set to randomize), work myself into a trance-like state and pace in circles around a coffee table in the center of my room. Setting the CD changer to random ensured that my experience would be unpredictable, and allowed for chance to enter into the formula. The music would guide me through a euphoric mind trip, with each song evoking different thoughts, emotions and insights. I did not fully understand what I was dabbling with; I was actually allowing unseen forces to “program” my CD changer for me, often with bizarre results. Sometimes music would play that I knew was not in the changer; sometimes unidentifiable voices would come through the speakers. At times I felt as though I had glimpsed some hidden knowledge about the workings of the universe, but other times I ended up crumpled on the floor, at the mercy of my own delusions. I think my biggest delusion was that God was at the helm. Until my bad trip, I took these ups and downs in stride.  The vocation came with risks.  When the time came for my parents to sell their home and for me to move out, I joked that I had created a vortex around my coffee table and that it would probably still be there for the next owners.

Nearly twenty years later, I am beginning to consider the possibility that something far more sinister was at work in my life, after hearing my wife’s dream. I was certainly stirring up a lot of energy during those late-night sessions. Could it be that I unknowingly opened a portal and attracted a demon to myself?  By 1998, I was on a downward spiral. I was reeling from heartbreak, I battled depression, drug addiction and probably a host other mental disorders that went undiagnosed. Soon, I was abandoning any sense of moral integrity and sought after casual sex, which only damaged my self-esteem further. I became wrapped up in pornography which poisoned my mind and body. Of course, I carried all of this dysfunction into my marriage and it’s no wonder I nearly wrecked the greatest thing God has ever blessed me with- a family of my own- a faithful wife and an adoring daughter.

Demons are not fallen angels and that is important to note. And I understand there is considerable debate about this, but I believe they are the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim– the giant offspring of the fallen angels who seduced and mated with human women [Genesis 6:4]. Their hybrid DNA was passed down from generation to generation. Did all who inherited Nephilim blood become demonized upon death?  If so, the spirit realm would be full of demonic spirits who never perished in the Great Flood and survive to this day, seeking habitation in vulnerable human beings.

If the fallen angels have certain principalities on the Earth, as Derek Prince explains, then perhaps demons can also attach themselves to certain regions, objects, people, etc. As Steve Quayle explained to me, demons are the “worker bees” and fall under the authority of Satanic principalities.  Perhaps my “rituals” caused one or more to take up habitation in my soul, where they have exerted their influence ever since. Perhaps a demon was already hanging around my family, my home, my street or my city. As my wife will attest, I started crying as she recalled her dream and I came to this understanding. Had I actually become possessed at some level, going back to my years as a young adult living in my parent’s home? Unbeknownst to me, Derek Prince was a deliverance minister, meaning, his area of specialty was the casting out of demons in the name of Jesus Christ. Here I was listening to him speak on this very subject. I believe the reason my wife was being attacked in her dream is because I was simultaneously becoming aware of the demonic influence over me, thanks to the ministry of Derek Prince. The demon began to realize it would soon be exposed and was fighting back, assaulting that which was most precious to me. It has now become a serious consideration: do I need deliverance to ultimately be free of this influence?  Do I need to close off the vortex which I opened long ago?

As it happens, this past week has been especially testing for our family. We were already facing a tight week financially with my daughter’s birthday and Thanksgiving on the way, then our car was hit and went into the shop for a week. I had to miss a shift at work. I was forced to borrow money from my folks to get our car repaired.  Being without a vehicle meant no escapes from the apartment for my wife. No date night. I had to walk back and forth to work, just as the freezing weather began settling in. I had to blow more money on cab fare. Our ISP refused to make arrangements with us on our past due bill. While I was away one evening, an unknown person came to our apartment pounding on the front door in a menacing manner, frightening my wife.  Later, the back massager went out, which is something my wife relies heavily on to tame the terrible leg pains she gets with her Multiple Sclerosis. She’s also been suffering through a sinus infection, without money to buy silver or an antibiotic. Then to top it off, a couple days ago, I was served with legal papers threatening wage garnishment over unpaid hospital bills!

While I have been learning, through the ministry of Derek Prince and also Pastor John Kyle, another deliverance minister here in Montana, the adversary has been busy trying to demoralize us. I have noticed that whenever I grow closer to God, the powers of darkness exert more force against me. Many Christians will attest that upon being baptized, Satan doubles down on his attacks. Why? Because his ultimate goal is to divert people from worshiping the Lord- especially those called to do great works in His service.

I fear that those without Christ in their lives are also vulnerable at this time. Just this year alone, I have witnessed several people close to me have complete breakdowns. Over the summer, a friend and co-worker flew into a drunken rage and assaulted his family with a shotgun, putting his wife and daughter in the hospital. He was normally a very jovial character, but a week prior to this incident he confessed to me that he did not really believe in God. I instantly felt as though he was under spiritual attack. He is now sitting in jail and his wife has filed for divorce and custody of their children. Several weeks ago, our neighbor, distraught over a failed romance, attempted suicide by swallowing a bottle of pills. This was another shocker. Then again, just last week, another co-worker, fueled by his drunken anger, punched holes in the walls of his home. The next day he left work early, distraught and sobbing. This is how I know that many will be torn down in these last days, and the faithful will be tested like never before.

On the surface these incidents appear to be merely symptoms of alcoholism or depression, which are very real conditions, but we cannot ignore the reality that there is a spiritual element involved- an attachment that is treacherous and bent on our destruction. As Pastor John Kyle explained, in a recent interview on The Hagmann & Hagmann Report, “If your eyes were open, you would see swirling masses of demonic entities and fallen angels and people with various forms and shapes of things attached to their bodies.” In his experience as a deliverance minister, he describes most people as having more than one demonic attachment.

For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.  And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

[Mark 5: 8-9]

Throughout the Gospels, we observe Jesus casting out demons.  In the above example from the Gospel of Mark, a tortured man was possessed by many demons.  He lived in the mountains amongst tombs where the Bible says he would cry out day and night and cut himself with stones.  In the brief period of time that Jesus conducted his ministry, he encountered many demon-possessed persons.  If that was the scenario in Jesus’ time, how much more prevalent must the problem of demon-possession be today?  I think it is obvious that we are facing a global epidemic.  To be blunt, I often feel like I am surrounded by zombies. And I do not say that to be cruel, or insinuate that all mental illness is caused by demon possession, but for the most part, people are not sane.  Their lives are in turmoil, with misery, loss, confusion, pain and despair ruling their days and nights.  How can anyone believe that our society is progressing, when it is clearly in decay?  I have lived in two separate towns over the past eight years, and in each I have observed some alarming trends.  As parents of a young child, my wife and I have always sought to find neighborhood playmates for our daughter.  In the process of associating with other parents and their kids, I have noticed that almost all homes are broken.  Either the parents were never married to begin with and one or the other has skipped out, or they are divorced.  Kids are raised around multiple boyfriends and girlfriends.  They are raised around violence, crime, alcohol and drugs.  Their homes are filthy to the point of being obscene.  Children can barely speak, they grunt and scream and cry.  They are pacified with SpongeBob, Doritos and Mountain Dew.  Families are emotionally and spiritually stunted.  Adults go about acting like children and children act like animals; it all seems quite hopeless.  Maybe you have observed this as well.

With each generation it seems, we fall further from God and our disordered lives reflect that detachment.  How many people are under the rulership of Satanic principalities?  Is a demonic entity charged with wrangling the people of your community away from the Lord?  What do we do?  The obvious answer is to pray, but do we have faith that Jesus can help us?  When the disciples ask Jesus why they were not able to cast out the demon who possessed a young man, Jesus says that certain demons are only expelled through prayer and fasting [Mark 9:28-29].  The disciples lacked faith.  Fasting subdues the flesh, in order that we might grow in spirit and faith, giving us the courage to confront the demonic force.  Then, do not pray for the Lord to take the demons away, but, using the authority granted unto you, cast them out in the name of Jesus Christ.

This Is A Call (Part Two)

ichabodAs I mentioned in my previous post This Is A Call (Part One), I was baptized in the Catholic Church as a baby and experienced a sorta-Catholic upbringing as a child.  I find it curious that I remember absolutely nothing from my catechism classes, except for being dropped off and picked up.  Was it so traumatic that I blocked it from my memory?

I spent my time as a young adult seeking spiritual enlightenment outside the confines of organized religion.  But, it was my need for confession that called me back to the Catholic Church thirty years later.  By this time, I had inflicted a great deal of emotional and psychological harm to myself and those I loved.  My marriage and my life were crumbling without Jesus.  Breaking down and confessing my sins was a helpful experience, if not a transformative one.

I met monthly with a Jesuit priest for about a year.  His laid-back personality was unexpected, as was his use of the word “bullshit,” as was his personal library, which I recall included a book about Islam and a DVD of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, which he happily lent to my seven-year-old daughter.  Amusing.  None of this sounded an alarm for me.  To the contrary, it made me feel like this whole Catholic thing didn’t have to be so serious.  Here was a Catholic priest no less, who seemed to be an open-minded, regular guy.  I have since learned more about the Society of Jesus and after reading a column this priest wrote recently for the local paper regarding climate change, I view my experience with him in a new light.  I still had my reservations about the Catholic Church and was holding back my complete faith and devotion from God.

My family and I moved to a new town and sampled the local Catholic Church.  The priest was a sincere and gentle Polish man.  He spoke in a meek voice and struggled with his English.  The mass service was very passive.  Having confessed my sins, I was eligible to again receive the sacrament of the Eucharist, which I did.  I was warming up.  I also sought counsel from this priest and, to his credit, he reminded me that all things were possible through Jesus Christ and urged me to pray, in order that my small faith might grow.  He pointed out that a great many saints and even the apostles of Christ lacked faith.

I found myself listening to a variety of radio programs on EWTN, including Catholic Answers Live, which re-familiarized me with the basic tenets of Christianity and Church tradition.  I learned about writer G.K. Chesterton (a Catholic convert) through The Apostle of Common Sense.  I would get excited when I would catch the Fathers of Mercy Hour while running errands in the car.  My mind and spirit was being fed through the impassioned talks about family, marriage, sin, mercy- whatever the topic might be. Essentially, my return to God was supported to a large degree by the Catholic Church.

But as I hungered for more understanding, I was led to a circle of “watchmen” composed of pastors, writers and journalists who were often critical of the Catholic Church, citing non-Biblical practices and their objection to papal authority.  I very quickly found myself in a conflict of faith.  Catholics will insist that the Catholic Church is the original Church founded by Jesus Christ, with Peter serving as first Pope.  Jesus implores us several times in the Gospels to not be deceived.  I had to ask myself, was it the Catholic message I was responding to, or the message of Jesus Christ?  If indeed it was the Holy Spirit guiding me and calling me back, it would make sense that He use the most immediate, effective path to accomplish this.  If we accept that God exists beyond the physical boundaries of time and space and is all-knowing, He can certainly chart that path for us.  For one person that journey might begin with a car accident, for another, a visit from a Mormon missionary, for another, a documentary about Noah.  For me, the Catholic Church was already there.

We mistakenly understand “church” to mean a building where Christians of a particular denomination congregate on Sunday to worship God.  So, Jews call their building a synagogue, Mormons call their building a temple, Muslims call their building a mosque, Jehovah’s Witnesses call their building a kingdom hall, and so on.  What does Jesus mean though, when He talks about His Church? The Greek word ecclesia, often mis-translated as “church” in the New Testament, literally means “congregation” or “assembly.”

And I did consider other churches. I even spoke with an Episcopalian priest, a recovering alcoholic who jokingly described the Episcopal Church as “Catholic Church without the guilt.”  But… I was guilty.  I wondered how one’s guilt could be ignored, when the fundamental requirement for forgiveness and everlasting life- repentance- comes from an admission of guilt?  And what is guilt but an understanding of wrongdoing, which arises from our God-given conscience?  Would I have been better off wandering into a Baptist or Presbyterian church on a whim, asking to be saved?  Why not just go with what I sorta know?  I had to trust that God would meet me where I was at, and take me to where I needed to be.

In the same way that YHWH saw Israel, not as a particular strip of land along the Mediterranean, but as His chosen people, Jesus regards His Church as His people.  The modern nation of Israel is therefore not synonymous with the chosen people and those that show up to worship at 10 a.m. Sunday morning are not necessarily Christ’s people.  Now, maybe my logic isn’t air-tight here, but it seems ridiculous to me that God would consider our particular denomination, or whether we were Catholic or Protestant, or whether we showed up every Sunday, at the time of our judgement.  At that time, God examines the condition of our hearts, whether we were repentant and accepted the gift of salvation from His Son, Jesus and kept His commandments to the best of our ability.

“The one who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. And the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father.  I also will love him and will reveal Myself to him…

… If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word, My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.”

[John 14: 21, 23]

In addition to calling non-believers, God is calling His faithful servants out of the churches because they preach a compromised Gospel.  To one degree or another, most churches have embraced the wisdom of the world in an effort to be more tolerant and open.  Both Catholic and Protestant churches have become infiltrated and impotent.  For the most part, pastors, priests and parishioners alike are mindlessly going through the motions when they participate in church service, but how many truly love God?  We are called upon to love the Lord with all our heart, soul and mind [Matthew 22:37].  As Christians, we are not to assimilate with the world and blend in, we stand apart as witnesses for Christ.  Dare I say, most Christian congregations are not in alignment with Christ, and that is tragic.  Where the Word is not preached and practiced, the glory of God is not present- ichabod.

enochI understand the Protestant doctrine of sola scriptura, which holds that the only legitimate source of truth can be the Holy Scriptures, but is everything except the Bible beyond consideration?  And I’m not talking about Little Red Riding Hood here, but what about the Book of Enoch, which is mentioned in the Bible [Jude 1:14-15]?  Excerpts from the Book of Enoch were discovered as part of the Dead Sea Scrolls.  The Catholic Church rejects the doctrine of sola scriptura; they contend that there are many Church traditions which date back to the time of Jesus, or the first few centuries after his death and resurrection, which are not specifically outlined in the Bible, so they also rely on the writings of the early Church fathers, etc.  I tend to agree.  For Christians, knowledge of the Bible should absolutely be central to the practice of our faith, but it cannot be the sole source of wisdom.  I have come to believe that God and His principles can be observed in all of Creation, even if not specifically referenced in the Bible, but we must be careful to check our understanding against the Scriptures to ensure there is no contradiction.  Indeed, there are potentially thousands of works of literature or art or music which extol the wisdom of our Lord, and yes, we can wonder in His Creation by spending a day fishing on the lake, but Satan is always attempting to cloud our perception and direct us away from Truth.  That is why we need discernment, to protect us from diluting the Word with secular ideology and polluting the Word with witchcraft, astrology, idolatry and the false religion of the fallen ones.  Discernment is a gift of the Holy Spirit and we can pray for it.

Because the shepherds of the Lord have not been vigilant, the flock has been led astray. Whole denominations have adopted practices that are not only non-Biblical, but are non-Christian.  “Mega-church” is an oxymoron.  The only way to attract hordes of well-wishers to your church building or sell millions of self-help books is to dilute and pollute, preaching a false, new-age gospel which does not call on its adherents to repent of their sins, does not teach about the Blood and Resurrection of Jesus Christ and does not speak of the prophets and Revelation.  Pay attention to the titles of some best-selling books by mega-pastor Joel Osteen: You Can, You Will, The Power of I AM, etc.  Now certainly the Lord wishes for our lives to be enriching, but through Him.  Joel Osteen would like you to believe that if we invoke the name of God, we can attract power and wealth to us.  This is nothing more than witchcraft.  The Lord is not our servant, sent to fetch whatever our heart desires.  We do not pray for material things and worldly influence.  Christians pray for the discernment to recognize where Jesus is directing us.  We are His servants.  The masses flee when they hear the real message of Jesus Christ.  Jesus is not a motivational speaker; His message is not a self-help message, it’s a message of abandoning the self and turning to God.

The prophets spoke of a day when the world would embrace a one-world religion and one-world government, one in which all teachings have value and morality is relative; that monstrosity will be headed up by the Antichrist.  Christians are being primed for this day.  The global governance of the Evil One will seem like an attractive solution to the chaos and destruction set to be loosed on the Earth.  All that God created is being desecrated and Christians are being pressured into accepting it, including sexual perversion of all kinds, idolatry, blasphemy and the corruption and destruction of life.

Jesus never said all paths lead to God, he said the way to eternal life is narrow [Matthew 7:14].  Pope Francis however has boldly proclaimed that Muslims worship the same God as Christians.  How is this possible when Muslims reject the divinity of Jesus Christ?  I was shocked to hear this.  I was shocked to learn also that Muslims were invited to conduct Islamic prayer services inside the Vatican and that the Qur’an is openly being read there.  Excuse me?  In addition, according to Pope Francis, Jesus’ death on the cross was a failure.  Talk about shocking.  Now I understand he means in the earthly realm, in other words, Jesus failed to convince all whom he encountered that he was the Messiah.  But was that the purpose of Jesus being sent to Earth?  No.  Did not God the Father already know that humanity would reject His Son?  Yes.  He was not sent to persuade all to follow Him, He was sent to die for our sins.  It was the apostles who were instructed to spread the Gospel throughout the known world.  This is fundamentally Christian and fundamentally Catholic.  So why is the Pope suggesting that Christ failed in any capacity?  Apparently Christ also failed by excluding extra-terrestrials from salvation when he died for the sins of man- the descendants of Adam and Eve.  Pope Francis said that the Catholic Church would baptize Martians if they ever visited the Vatican, “Who are we to close doors?”  These sorts of statements represent a severe lack of understanding regarding the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and that is frightening for a man of such power and influence.

poprahIs the Pope evil, as in purposefully malicious and deceitful?  I do not think so.  But, he is incredibly gullible and instead of trusting in the Word, he has lent his ear to his cabal of advisers, all of whom are focused on specific political agendas which have nothing, it seems, to do with Jesus Christ.  So, perhaps the Pope himself is not evil, but he is certainly being used by those with evil intentions.  Does the Pope scour the internet at 2 a.m. doing his own research?  No.  Does the Pope study global climate patterns?  No.  Does the Pope study the links between certain vaccines and auto-immune disorders?  No.  Does the Pope even comprehend that “aliens” are demonic in nature, and have not traveled here from distant planets but have been alongside us all along?  Nope.  He consults with his experts, who have been culled from Marxist, atheist and environmentalist circles.  They offer up discussions on current events, popular trends, scientific consensus- the prevailing wisdom of the world- that which is causal and temporary and falling away.  If the Pope really is the vicar of Christ, shouldn’t I expect him to sound a little more like Jesus and a little less like Oprah Winfrey or Deepak Chopra?

We should not be shocked because this has all been forecast.  Last month, the Pope visited the United States and before speaking at the UN, met with the Resident of the White House and spoke before a joint session of Congress and the Supreme Court, not to condemn the recent redefinition of marriage or the seventy-million aborted children since the Roe v. Wade decision, or our nation’s rampant perversion and wickedness, but rather, to push for the UN’s Agenda 2030, which aims to build the platform upon which the Antichrist’s global government will be hoisted.  The deception is multifaceted and orchestrated.  Who can argue with such noble goals as saving the planet from environmental destruction, ending war, poverty, famine and unfairness in every form?  We have lost sight of the fact that only the Lord is capable of just rulership.  Human societies will always be flawed, because human beings are flawed.  The United States, with our Constitution and Bill of Rights may be the closest any human civilization has come to creating a equitable society, but it does not approach the perfection of God’s Kingdom.  The promise of utopia is a lie, as is the idea that salvation will come from our space brothers and their technology.

My need to define myself as a Catholic or Protestant ends in Jesus Christ.  We don’t go to church, we are the Church, assuming we are in alignment with Christ.  God is calling His faithful servants out of the church buildings and into His army, those who reject the wisdom of the world and stand, washed in the Blood of Jesus, to defend the faith.  This is the remnant.  I’m not suggesting people stop attending church services, I am suggesting we start inviting Jesus Christ to attend as well.  There are many who will prefer to sit in their pew, surrounded by those who compliment them on their charity and holiness, allowing gentle messages of comfort and joy to wash over them, drowning out their calling, their mission and their duty as Christians.  These apostate Christians will spearhead the persecution of the remnant Church, by characterizing true followers of Jesus Christ as radical fundies.  When Christianity falls under persecution in America, like in China, the Middle East and other parts of the world (Sweden!  Germany!  France!  Britain!), the Church will go underground.  Christ’s people will continue their worship in small groups in the relative safety of their homes.

“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

[Matthew 18:20]

Do not be afraid to take your questioning to the Lord as I have done.  The God of the Old Testament is unfairly characterized as a God of wrath and vengeance.  And while YHWH has certainly administered punishment over the millennia, to know Him is to understand His abundant patience and mercy, His perfect justice and His infinite love.  From the Creator’s point of view, He desires His creation to rejoice in Him.  He desires to share His joy with mankind.  He wants us, through our own choosing, to demonstrate our gratitude by worshiping only Him.  We worship by faithfully following His commandments and honoring our covenants with Him.  It is only after the entire seed of mankind was corrupted that God brought forth the Great Flood to destroy all life, spare Noah and his family and a genetic record of all the beasts of the Earth.  Only after repeated pleas for men to turn from their evil ways and rejoin their Creator, does He rain down destruction.  All of Creation rests, not merely on principles of physics, but on the virtues of liberty and righteousness.  This idea is set forth in the very first chapter of Genesis when God says, “Let there be light” [Genesis 1:3].  Because in order for light to exist there first had to be darkness.  It follows that in order for there to be good, there must be evil.  To be alive is to exist in harmony with the Creator, to acquire everlasting life is to join with the Creator, into the light.  To be dead is to exist in opposition to the Creator, to inherit eternal death is to be severed from the Creator and cast into the void.

For a man there can be no greater calling than to be the spiritual head of his family, a faithful husband and loving father.  Now I hear God speak to me.  I feel the Holy Spirit move in me.  It is no mistake, or accident, or coincidence, or delusion… and it all began with a sincere prayer to know Truth.  You can know Him too.

This Is A Call (Part One)

crossThe world encourages us to trust our hearts.  The Bible warns us however that the heart is deceitful and that we should trust in the Lord [Jeremiah 17:9; Proverbs 3:5-6].  Which is better advice?

My mother converted to Catholicism in order to marry my father, who was from a strict Portuguese-Catholic family. When this is done, the Church insists the children be raised Catholic- and there will be children. My parents made an effort at first, enrolling me and my younger sister in catechism classes and reading us Bible stories; they bragged that I could recite the Lord’s Prayer by age two.  I went on to receive my first communion, but then the religious instruction stopped.  Over time our family attended mass less and less.

My growing up was accompanied by a sense of being “set apart.”  It is doubtful to me that this resulted simply from my baptism as an infant, as many others received the same sacrament.  Did God choose me or did I choose Him?  The Bible tells us that God knows each of us, even before conception [Jeremiah 1:5].  I do not presume to say that I am special in any way, but I do recall praying for the truth to be revealed to me.  I rarely accept things as they appear on the surface; I am always careful to examine my own biases and motives, neither wanting to be deceived by myself or any religious authority.  I believe that God has permitted my questioning in order that He might be reproven in the end.  Because my prayers were always to know truth, I was led naturally back to the God of Creation that I have always had a yearning to understand.  With wavering faith, I walked along to this point, where the seeking ends and the mystery deepens.

As a young adult fresh out of high school, I took to recording music and journaling, which soon developed into a poetic form.  I experimented with marijuana as a way to enhance my creativity and communicate with my “higher self,” literally.  My experience was that it aided in removing mental inhibitions. While most of my friends were interested in getting stoned and getting laid, I was introspective; I took my stash back to my room, where I sought to create my own ecosystem, conducive to my late-night writing and recording sessions.  It was almost ritualistic the way I prepared my bong with ice cubes and bottled water.  My room had to be cool, with the window open and ceiling fan humming, lit only by my aquariums and a few candles.  I would burn amber or sandalwood. My music became more abstract, the poetry more stream-of-consciousness.  I experimented with automatic writing and at times believed I was channeling other “intelligences.” I took my sessions into nature, packing a pipe, a lighter, some water, a granola bar, my notebooks and my mini-cassette recorder.  As I hiked along, I would record whatever thoughts, lyrics or musical progressions that came to me.  I brought tobacco and corn meal as an offering to the Earth, for all the insights provided me that day.  I came to believe that nature was God, intrinsically, inseparably- there was nothing supernatural about it.  I had drifted far away from the Church and was heavily steeped in a new-age mysticism of my own concoction.  I felt a sense of peace and comfort, escaping to this other dimension whenever the real world got me down. I would journal through my problems or channel them into my music. It was therapeutic.

I credit my early interest in occult topics to my father, who kept various Time Life and Reader’s Digest volumes around like Mysteries of the Unexplained.  For a kid, I had acquired a fair knowledge of Spiritism, ESP, UFOs, ghosts, time-travel, Bigfoot, etc.  In college I studied cultural anthropology.  I had a curiosity about world religions and ancient civilizations.  One day while browsing a bookstore I liked to frequent, I happened upon a book by Louis T. Culling called The Pristine Yi King, which is Culling’s interpretation of the ancient Chinese I Ching or Book of Changes from the standpoint of a ritual magician.  I suppose it was something about the figures of the hexagrams that grabbed my interest, like a schematic of the universe, I thought.  It wasn’t long before I was waist-deep in the I Ching, Taoism and Zen.  I started my own pen-pal network and newsletter for I Ching enthusiasts and created my own cards for casting the oracle.  I would consult the I Ching frequently for “insight” into life situations.  As I networked and exchanged newsletters with others in the alternative-spirituality community, my interests expanded to include the pre-Christian religions of Europe.  I became attracted to Native American lore, recognizing the similarities in shamanic practice between the ancient peoples of Europe and the Americas.  Being of European ancestry, yet living in North America, it seemed a logical course.  I discovered the trickster tales of Coyote and Iktome as well as the concept of the Medicine Wheel.  I was building a spiritual framework for myself.  Ok, so I was a stoner, equal parts Joseph Campbell and Cat Stevens.  Incredibly though, there was no shortage of books at Barnes & Noble geared specifically for other armchair shamans like myself, presenting a fuzzy synthesis of new-age and neo-pagan beliefs, backed up by very little academic veracity.

I emerged from all this study with a world-view that basically concluded ancient peoples all around the world at one time lived in peace and harmony with the Earth, then Christianity came along and wrecked everything with its doctrines of sin, suffering and salvation.  While I chuckle at my simplistic thinking now, back then it was a very sincere concern of mine.  All the while, I perceived that God was watching over me and that all this knowledge would help me understand His true nature and the purpose of mankind.  I thought, maybe Jesus was misunderstood by the apostles and therefore the message of the Gospel was incorrect.  Or, the Bible was corrupted along the way- something added, something taken away.  Or, some shadowy group of control freaks conspired together to write the books of the Bible as a means to control the masses through fear of damnation, and Abraham, Moses, David, Joseph, Mary, Jesus, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John never really existed.

Despite accumulating all this knowledge, I was hopelessly failing at putting it to good use.  I became melancholy.  I developed a psychological dependence on marijuana.  The increasing responsibilities of work, college and my expanding newsletter began to take their toll.  I was angry.  I was frequently dishonest to cover up my mistakes and inadequacies.  I had neglected my girlfriend, being quite oblivious to the requirements of a relationship.  Then one night, in the midst of our break-up, I had a bad trip.  The stresses of life compounded by my lack of sleep (and one too many bong hits) propelled me into an anxiety attack.  I felt like I was in spiritual danger.  I clutched a silver crucifix that had adorned my grandfather’s casket and pleaded for God to protect me.  I would go to the emergency room that night with heart palpitations.  When I returned home, I attempted to calm down and tell myself that the effects of the marijuana would wear off soon.  I was exhausted, but I resisted the urge to fall asleep for fear I would slip into a coma.  When I finally fell asleep, I had a horrible nightmare:

dog_nightmareI was hiking up in the hills by my home.  This was a familiar location that I hiked to regularly and often stopped there because of the shade to rest and cool down.  There was a small pond there surrounded by trees.  As I approached the pond, I noticed a pack of four or five dogs on the other side.  They were rabidly snarling and snapping at each other as they ripped apart something on the ground- a carcass.  When I came closer to have a look, I realized the carcass was my dead body!  I panicked and started grabbing what I thought were sticks, throwing them at the dogs in desperation until I hit one in the head and they scampered away.  I looked down at my feet and to my horror, I saw that I was picking up bones, not sticks!  In fact, I was standing on piles of human bones!

The nightmare was part of a series of disturbing dreams that night.  For a week, I went about my daily business in what a psychologist would describe as a dissociative state.  I did emerge from this state, but never to be the same again.  Sounds like a ridiculous episode of The 700 Club, you say?  I ditched the I Ching, which proved to be unfathomable, my newsletter, which was expanding into subject matter I had little grasp of, and the marijuana which kept me… stuck.  I focused more heavily on my music for a couple years, until I discovered the internet, which lured me away again into a world of online pagan chats and introduced me to a host of unstable characters, some of which I met “IRL.”  I started smoking marijuana again.  I continued down this lost and lonely road a little further, made a series of bad choices and wound up in a depression again over a couple failed relationships. A buddy of mine who had recently started studying with the Jehovah’s Witnesses started sharing their literature with me, but the message felt a little dumbed down for me.  They were able to familiarize me with several basic Bible teachings, but I was not ready to believe.

Soon I would fall in love with my future wife. We separated from the online chat room where we met, as it was quickly degenerating into a den of gossip and debauchery. We chatted online and over the phone for two years before she bravely made the move from Missouri to California to be with me. We soon married and she became pregnant with our daughter.  I was happier than I had ever been in my life, but as marriage inevitably does, all the problems I had sought to escape in my early twenties were exposed.  I had developed an issue with pornography over the years, which worsened in times of stress.  For thirteen years, I hid. I failed to confront my issues with anger, intimacy and honesty, still preferring to escape problems instead of dealing with them.  Years of financial instability, constant moving and ongoing family disputes- but especially my repeated betrayals, including a shameful affair- destroyed my marriage and left my wife in pieces. I felt empty inside too.  I was blessed with a wonderful family, but struggled to connect with them because, essentially, I had lost my connection to the true and living God.

If it were not for my faithful and loving wife, I might have exited the story here. For months I threatened to leave, I acted incredibly selfish and cruel; I was in full recoil.   I once told my wife that she was just holding on to me for fear of being cast into the void. When she asked a nun what she should do to help our marriage, the nun responded by telling her to pray for me, because it was I who was in the void. Despite my reprehensible treatment of my wife, she prayed for me; she prayed for our marriage, through all her fear and pain. Her commitment to our marriage taught me invaluable lessons about faith, sacrifice, trust and love.

In an effort to save my marriage, I went to my first confession and broke down about all my transgressions.  I would meet monthly with the priest who heard my confession, a Jesuit.  I desired spiritual counseling, as opposed to secular, psychological analysis.  The priest was surprisingly down-to-earth and easy to talk with, to a fault; what I really needed was Jesus, not an easy-going priest.  I wanted a moral reprimand; I wanted His love and direction.  I felt I wasn’t getting the help I needed, and was left to fend for myself.

I was drawn to reggae music for a time.  The idea that we were all living under oppression in a figurative Babylon seemed appropriate to living in America circa 2014.  Biblical themes of justice, perseverance and reliance on God run throughout reggae music, with bands frequently incorporating Scripture into their song lyrics.  While I understood the incompatibility of Rastafarianism and Christianity, I overlooked that for the moment and sought to connect with the broader, mystical “Jah” vibe.

Although I felt I was drawing closer to God, my heart was still languishing in sin.  I continued to pray on a regular basis, for strength to defeat my demons and lift up my family.  I did not understand what surrendering to God meant.  It did not mean trying harder, it meant giving up and admitting defeat.  Understanding this was the key to my conversion.  I let go the reins of my life, handed them over to Jesus and said, “Only you can do this.”  Instead of praying for strength, I began to pray for Jesus to transform my heart. He responded. Apparently, He was well aware of my lacking faith and skepticism.  I was working out an intellectual understanding of God and Creation, but I was missing that heart-to-heart relationship with Jesus.  Then, I experienced a visitation while at work:

angel_visitationI work in wood manufacturing.  As I would normally do, I was sorting through wood frame pieces and grading their quality as they scooted toward me on a conveyor belt.  From there I banded the pieces together and stacked the bundles on pallets.  It is fast-paced and repetitive. Often the work becomes automatic and I find myself lost in my thoughts and the music playing in my headphones.  One particular morning around 10 a.m. I noticed the ambient light of my workspace increase dramatically.  Although I did not physically see it, I sensed a presence slightly behind and to the left of me that was very tall, radiating a golden-white light.  I recognized the holiness of this being as it communicated with me, not with words but telepathically, through an “emotional uplink” of sorts.  It is very hard to describe how this communication occurred.  It was like having an intense spotlight on me, a light that burned through all my layers of protection, all my deceptions, all my excuses, from which there is no hiding.  It was overwhelming and frightening but understanding and merciful at the same time.  I was brought to tears. This was a messenger from God- an angel.  I am henceforth convinced!  I received the moral reprimand that I desired and the confirmation that my skeptical mind needed.  This was a communication from God the Father, for it was a spiritual father whom I needed to direct me.  I thought, if this is what it feels like to be in the presence of an angel, how incredible it must feel like in the presence of God Himself.

I developed a hunger for the Word.  I began listening to Catholic radio.  I began reading the Holy Scriptures.  I began seeing the world through new eyes.  It was like I was re-aligning myself with Truth; my questions were being answered; things I failed to understand starting making sense.  I considered returning to the Church with a full confession to receive my confirmation.  Thanks to my wife, I was already listening to The Alex Jones Show regularly and was quickly awakening to the state of the world.  Not only was I transforming in my spirit, but my politics and worldview were changing as well. I recognized that Alex was a Christian.  It was through him that I learned of Steve Quayle, whom he interviewed about Jade Helm back in April.  I gravitated to Steve instantly, and sought out more of his interviews.  I too had gotten swept up in the Ancient Aliens craze, but felt as if the alien explanation was missing something.  After hearing a Steve Quayle interview in which he discussed the fallen angels and Nephilim, everything clicked. I found The Hagmann & Hagmann Report, where Steve is often brought on to speak with Pastor David Lankford, who became another favorite speaker of mine.  I discovered Rick Wiles, Paul McGuire, Nathan Leal and other watchmen, all of whom resonated with me because of their passion for Jesus Christ and in-depth analysis of Scripture and Bible prophecy.  Their general scorn towards the Roman Catholic Church, in particular the Pope and Vatican, has caused me to rethink where I belong within the body of the Church, but I’ll save that discussion for another post, This Is A Call (Part Two).

I abandoned ideas for novels and screenplays I was working on. The focus of this blog shifted.  I have no doubt that it is the Holy Spirit who has acted on me and led me here, pulling me down from the fence and back into camp.  I suppose it is the urgency of our times that is compelling people to decide on which side they fall.  I believe there is a sorting occurring now.  I predict in the coming weeks, months and years, we will experience many surprises as celebrities and other public figures choose sides.  Those we thought were atheist may suddenly proclaim Jesus Christ; those we once thought righteous will come to embrace the Evil One. We will see this sorting amongst our friends and family as well.  Believers will be challenged and faith will be put to the test.

While Christians are looking to science to prove the existence of God, scientists are turning to God for answers.  It is strange that I am being called back to God and the Church at a time when Christians are under attack around the globe and the Catholic Church is headed up by a Pope that seems all too comfortable in the political realm.  I find it ironic that I am returning to God during such a tumultuous time, when it would be far easier to embrace the wind and drift along with the current of the world’s hedonistic, YOLO ideology. Now more than ever, perversion is excused, blasphemy is celebrated and immorality is protected by law. The world today provides a very cozy environment for the unrepentant sinner.

But I know what that spotlight feels like…
