Never Forget, Again

forgetAs we approach the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, once again we hear emboldened calls to “never forget.”  But what exactly are we being asked to remember?  If your answer is the brave firefighters, police and individuals who acted heroically that fateful day, then I say fair enough.  The lessons of 9/11 have been long forgotten however, mostly because we have never understood the realities of 9/11 to begin with.  We have forgotten about the ineptitude of our intelligence agencies.  We have forgotten about all the incongruencies in The 9/11 Commission Report.  Indeed, we have forgotten the sense of national unity and patriotism that followed 9/11.  But most significantly, we have forgotten our own values of liberty and justice.  We have forgotten who we are as Americans.  We have forgotten that we are one nation, under God.  This makes us vulnerable to another attack.

Following the astonishing attacks of 9/11, the world stood with America.  Multitudes in the international community wept for knowing what the attacks, focused squarely on our symbols of financial and military might, represented.  The world prayed for America, only to watch her implode.  Now, the world has forgotten America because our response to the attacks has accomplished nothing but to further the spread of terrorism and erode the foundations of democracy worldwide.

As I recalled in my very first post One American (An Introduction), after the attacks I expected our jets to be in the air within hours, mounting a response.  That didn’t happen.  I figured surely, with the scope of our intelligence gathering worldwide, we would instantly know who was responsible.  How naive I was, but even then I sensed something was off.  What I came to understand through several years of research and observation, is that a long-standing globalist plan to destabilize the Middle East was secretly deploying;  9/11 was the needed catalyst.  Through Neo-con accomplices in the Bush Administration and especially the Pentagon’s Office Of Special Planning, created in 2002, a dubious justification for the invasion of Iraq and the removal of Saddam Hussein was pieced together.  The American media, perhaps out of a sense of loyalty to the Administration or perhaps through coercion, was complicit in conveying the “evidence” to the American people.  In reality, Saddam Hussein had no connection to the 9/11 attacks.  An astute and independent media would have investigated these claims.  Instead, the media acquiesced to the will of the government, and today serves merely as a propaganda tool to shape public opinion.

Just tune in to FOX News or CNN and you will discover that Muslim extremists are no longer the primary threat to national security, rather, it is the American citizen that poses the greatest danger, especially if they are a veteran, a gun owner, a Christian or just someone who dares invoke the Bill of Rights or Declaration of Independence.  It took just over a decade; the seeds of the so-called “Arab Spring” were planted and al-Qaeda metastasized into the Islamic State as the new chaos control.

Keep in mind, in 2003, on the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln, in front of a banner declaring “Mission Accomplished,” then President George W. Bush declared, “The battle of Iraq is one victory in a war on terror that began on September the 11th, 2001 and still goes on.”  Similarly, the Obama Administration marked the end to U.S. combat operations in Afghanistan in December of last year, but 13,500 troops remain in “support roles” which still include airstrikes, raids and engaging Taliban fighters.  American soldiers are also tasked with protecting Afghanistan’s ever-more-productive opium fields from the Taliban, who have sought to destroy the crop because of Islamic prohibitions on drug use.  Operation Enduring Freedom was replaced with Operation Resolute Support, but what has really changed?

“Never forget!” cannot possibly be a patriotic battle cry, because the “war on terror” which came as an outgrowth of the attacks is a fraud; what we have endured for the last fourteen years is a war on freedom.  We no longer follow our own Constitution.  We no longer honor the principles on which our nation was founded.  The phrase “never forget” is used to rejuvenate the fear state that holds our people captive.  And every year it is repeated, and paired with images of the Twin Towers burning and collapsing.  The goal is nothing more than to create an atmosphere of paranoia where people willingly accept liberty-crushing legislation like the Patriot Act and NDAA.  Regrettably, we cannot reminisce about 9/11 with any honor and recall that the terrorists acted with cowardice and hit us good, but we stood firm and recovered in the face of evil.  Truth be told, we have given ourselves over to cowardice, lawlessness and evil.  We made excuses.  Are we any safer now?  No. We are perilously close to destruction.  We have accepted more government bureaucracy, by creating the Department of Homeland Security and Transportation Security Administration and expanding the powers of the NSA and IRS to criminalize American citizens.

9/11 was a revelation of the perversion that America had become.  It exposed the hypocrisy of the greatest nation on Earth.  I suppose you could say we should “never forget” the day that marked the onset of America’s judgement.  I’m not blaming America for the attacks as others have done.  9/11 was a wake up call that went unheeded, a lost opportunity to root out the corruption and evil that have mutated our representative republic.  Instead of a real investigation, we were given The 9/11 Commission, who’s official report on the attacks served not to uncover the truth, but merely to create a framework in which we would execute the phony “war on terror.”  The 9/11 Commission Report is not an investigation, but a narrative- a blueprint for expanding the faculties of a government poised for complete tyranny.  Curiously, the report never mentioned the collapse of the 7 World Trade Center building and only recently were twenty-eight pages of the report declassified, revealing that Saudi Arabia (our supposed ally) funded and coordinated the operation.  And here we are, fourteen years later.  It took all of these years to complete the One World Trade Center (with the observatory at the tower’s top finally opening just this Spring), not as a monument to American tenacity or faith, but instead, as a repugnant erection to our globalist deities.  By comparison, it took just over a year to complete the Empire State Building in 1931- during the Great Depression.

If only we were not as vain and prideful.  While the attacks may have been carried out by Islamic terrorists (if you care to believe the official story) it served as a warning from God.  I’m no Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson mind you, but there are numerous accounts in the Bible where God lifted his hand of protection, allowing a nation’s enemies to overwhelm them.  Most notably is the destruction of the Northern Kingdom of Israel by Assyria in 722 B.C:

And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the Lord their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.

And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:

And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the Lord carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the Lord to anger:

For they served idols, whereof the Lord had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing…

… And the Lord rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.

God has a problem with towers it seems.  In other translations of this Bible passage, it is revealed that the Israelites sinned against God by setting up Asherah poles (translated groves in the King James Version), which were sacred trees (think: totem pole) to honor the pagan goddess of fertility, Asherah.  I shouldn’t have to mention the Tower of Babel in the Book of Genesis; countless comparisons have already been made between that ancient tower and the Twin Towers, so I wont bother.

The point is, God allowed the destruction of Israel- his chosen people- because of their blatant disregard for His commandments and their spirit of rebelliousness.  Part of that process of destruction involved Israel’s borders being overrun with invaders.  Now, in discussing our judgement, I’m not suggesting that illegal immigrants are warring for America, but they are being used by the enemy as an instrument of our destruction.  Our country was built by immigrants, who once endured a rigorous process to enter America.  But now, with our deranged immigration policy, which screens for nothing yet offers everything in the form of government assistance, America may very well be taken down by immigrants.  Our enemy uses our sense of fairness, charity and justice to hamstring us.  While most illegal immigrants are hard working people seeking a better life in America, many are hardcore criminals seeking to escape jurisdiction in their countries of origin, which not only include countries in Latin America, but Asia, Africa and the Middle East.  Those with no identification are recklessly given new identities.  If we do not have a common sense immigration policy in place that at least screens for felons and those with links to terrorism, how do we have any clue who is entering our country and what their intentions are?  What infectious diseases will see a resurgence as a result of unchecked immigration?  We are already witnessing strange outbreaks of tuberculosis, dengue fever and legionaries disease.  How does the government justify its ongoing, illegal surveillance of American citizens, enhanced pat-downs, body scanners, roadside checkpoints, etc. while allowing our borders to be wide open?  These things would be unfathomable to our founding fathers.  The only possible explanation?  We are no longer living under the Constitutional authority of the United States of America.

Should we be surprised?  These policies come from the same resident of the White House who releases known terrorists and drug lords from prison to appease rival criminal elites.  These policies originate from a person who sees fit to arm and train radical Islamic militants against Syrian President Assad, who, despite objectionable policies, commands his army to protect Christians and other religious and ethnic minorities in his country against the advance of ISIS, backed by the U.S., Saudi Arabia and Turkey.  We should be outraged.  Russia is lending support to Assad now, and France is preparing for airstrikes against ISIS targets in Syria.  How is it that the rest of the civilized world recognizes that ISIS is the enemy?  Could it be because we had more than a little bit to do with their expansion?  Well, according to the Pentagon, that’s precisely the case.  Kinda hard to win a war on terror when you’re fighting on both sides, eh?

Many European nations already have a major dilemma on their hands with Muslim immigrants who have no desire to assimilate into European society.  This is now compounded by a raging refugee problem, as people flee war ravaged stretches the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia.  Their plight is a direct result of our reprehensible foreign policy, orchestrated at the top by those who’s goal is to topple the strongholds of Western, Judeo-Christian civilization.  What happens when refugees start fleeing Western Europe as migrants wreak havoc on their culture?  On one level, you might conclude that our enemy are Islamic militants, but again, they are merely another weapon in the arsenal of globalist authoritarians, who will use any means to conquer America and the rest of the world.  All conflict in the world is a reflection of the greater war occurring in the spiritual realm; it is Satan who is our true enemy, and that battle is raging in the soul of humankind.  We have fallen under the spell of the Great Deceiver.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

So, what is our current trajectory?  Persecution and violence against Christians is rapidly becoming an international crisis.  This crisis has now spread to the U.S. on the heels of the Supreme Court’s illegitimate decree that the definition of marriage is now to include the bondage of homosexual partners.  Any objection to this perversion means you can lose your job, your business, your home, your children and perhaps soon, your life.  Kim Davis, the Rowan County, Kentucky clerk, was jailed for six days without bail for refusing to issue a marriage license to a gay couple.  Put her Christian faith aside for a moment and consider, Kim Davis broke no law.  Supreme Court opinions do not equate with legislation; under Kentucky law, marriage is exclusively recognized as between a man and a woman.  Ordinarily, you might expect a person to lose their job for refusing to perform the duties of their job, if it were not for our society’s disdain for God’s redeeming Word. “The idea of natural law superceding this court’s authority would be a dangerous precedent indeed,” said Judge David L. Bunning before tossing Davis in jail.  Judge Bunning apparently believes he is above the law- even God’s law.  Evangelist Kent Hovind, founder of Creation Science Ministries and Dinosaur Adventureland in Pensacola, Florida was recently released from prison following a ten-year sentence for charges related to tax evasion and “structuring,” which is breaking up a large sum of money into smaller deposits, to avoid scrutiny.  Whether you agree with Hovind’s literal view of Creation or not, it is clear he was targeted for his faith.  Under Lois Learner, the IRS illegally singled out for extra scrutiny, Christian, Libertarian and Tea Party organizations applying for non-profit status, for which nobody was punished.  These assaults on religious liberty will increase in intensity and frequency unless true Christians stand up and speak out.

We have turned to idols like Kali, who’s frightful image was projected on the face of the Empire State Building in New York City on August 1st, as part of an exhibition focusing on endangered species.  The idea behind the ominous display?  According to artist Andrew “Android” Jones, Mother Earth needs a fierce avatar to fight pollution and extinction, reports the Times of India.  Kali, Hindu goddess of time, change and destruction, is often portrayed as a multi-armed, blood-thirsty cannibal, standing upon the body of her consort, Shiva, and wearing a necklace of severed heads and a belt made from human limbs.  Interesting choice of defenders, but Kali doesn’t care about endangered species, she wants to devour youClearly, the artist’s intention was not to actually summon Kali, but the event, to me, was a clear foreshadowing of the terror that’s about to be unleashed in our country.  The image of Kali concluded a series of images which featured various endangered species, one of which was the bald eagle.  It is a grave mistake to (literally or figuratively) call upon demons and false gods to aid in any human endeavor, even charitable ones.  The one sin that always results in destruction is the worship of false idols.

Have we forgotten the fate of ancient Babylon?  Prophetic chatter regarding the judgement of America is off the charts for September 2015.  From blood moons to eclipses to Shemitahs, asteroids and rouge planets, everyone is abuzz about when the collapse will occur and by what means it will be brought about.  Jade Helm 15 concludes this month, but the laying of the grid continues.  Pope Francis is set to visit the United States this month and will address Congress and the United Nations, no doubt to rubber stamp the globalist takeover of America by authority of the Vatican.  This convergence of events (and there are more) has everyone holding their breath and, hopefully, praying.  We have already seen the stock market tumble, what lies in wait for us next?  We are in the midst of another Cold War, because of our policies in the Ukraine, Syria and beyond.  An all out war is looming, but this time we don’t have the moral high ground.  It is my belief that judgement comes in waves, like the plagues the Lord sent against the Pharaoh of ancient Egypt.  Whether a major event will occur in September nobody knows for certain, but there is little denying that we are entering into very turbulent times.  A great, black cloud of deception has descended over the land, people are oblivious to their unfolding fate; the apathetic haze of ignorance and impotence is preferred to vigilance and strength.  In this strange, scorched land, whistleblowers are traitors and prophets are lunatics.  Is this the beginning of the Great Tribulation?  Are we in the end times or is this just the end of America as we know it?  Or will God grant us a little more time?  Hold on tight and stand firm in your faith, you are going to need it.

Can We Resurrect America?

phoenixMy last article for One American was written back in January 2014 (Dolly, Google And Original Sin). What has transpired between then and now, both personally and globally, I plan to break down and write about here over the next several weeks.  There are also several posts I had planned on writing this previous year, which were never completed.  Once finished, these will appear on my blog around the original intended time of publication.

Work, family, illness and my own spiritual transformation has kept me busy in other realms for the past year or so, which is a detrimental amount of time in the blogosphere if you’re concerned with maintaining relevance and a readership.

Back in 2013, at the beginning of my quest, my desire for e-mail security led me to hushmail.com, but for a free account one must sign in once every three weeks or it’s deleted.  Easy right?  Yeah, that’s what I said. After going through five (!) hushmail accounts, I decided to settle on Yandex instead.  My new e-mail contact is: just.one.american@yandex.com.  Please contact me here from now on.  Soon my inbox will be overflowing with belligerent comments, death threats and mysterious leads, right?

For the safety of my family I was urged to steer clear of a possible Sandy Hook story, an interview in fact, with a former associate of the alleged shooter’s father, Peter Lanza. In short, she believed the school shooting was staged to cover up a plan to murder the entire Lanza family.  Was Adam Lanza used in an assassination plot?  Did Peter Lanza know something?  She didn’t elaborate on why she came to believe this, but once commented to me that she had left New York because of the politics- this being before the bully Bloomberg took over.  She used the word “fled” so obviously something more than liberal-mania had driven her away to refuge in the mountains of Montana.  This same person also told me that she was once led to a room where she observed dozens of agents sitting around computer screens tapping into security camera systems at will- any camera system, from convenience stores to sports arenas to traffic cameras, home CCTV systems, etc.  I wanted to find out more, but after a short stint here, she was off again to another state.  Perhaps it’s better off that way.

One American went dormant in January 2014.  In April of 2014, I attempted to resume blogging with a post entitled “Life On Earth,” but again had to focus on issues closer to home.  I’ve since deleted that post and I am starting over again here, one year later, a completely changed person with a new perspective.  One American is evolving, in a sense.  So, while it may appear that my posts from here on out repel against earlier ones, have no fear, it is only because I am operating from a fuller and more complete understanding.  I have made no attempt to revise my earlier posts, although I can say I see world events in a new light now.

Since becoming awake, I am finding that there are other levels of awareness revealed to us, if we remain on the path of seeking truth.  In the span of just a few years, I have traveled from that initial gut feeling of “something is not right” to the realization that at every level our world is under a grand deception.  Is it not obvious that as individuals and as a civilization, we are all being accelerated toward a great revelation?  Lines are being drawn and we are all being called to decide where our allegiances lie.

I am not as well versed in history as say, Alex Jones.  I certainly do not have the time to pour over as much news and information.  I admit, I do not know a great deal about economics, military tactics or even geopolitics.  I am a product of my environment, a laborer.  I am an average person really, rooted in common sense, rational, curious, a seeker of truth.  I have endeavored to educate myself beyond society’s expectations of me.  This is my perspective- and I suspect there are others like me out there.  I have seen enough of the world to understand just how I have been deceived.

One American has never been just about politics.  I feel like I have attempted to illuminate an intersection of politics, culture, science, life and spirituality with my writing.  Now, well into 2015, with our Republic crumbling, it has become increasingly difficult to expect political solutions for what ails our society.  I am now emerging from this extended period of reflection asking this burning question: Will America survive what’s coming?   What is coming?  I may be able to resurrect my blog, but can we resurrect America?  Surely I’m not foolish enough to believe that if we manage to elect, say, a Rand Paul for President in 2016, we can “fix” America.  At best, we may be able to stem the tide of destruction and buy some time, time to help people understand the plot against them, perhaps leading to a revival of American liberty and a return to Constitutional values.  That will not happen though unless we understand these words:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed;

The problem here is this: First and foremost, we have forgotten our Creator.  From this error we have come to substitute the government for God as responsible for bestowing our rights.  Following in this delusion, we have been persuaded to believe that in a democracy, the majority can act to abolish certain rights.  So, not only have we have consented to having our rights stripped away by our silence, but by our collective rebuke of God.

I predict that the 2016 presidential election will be the most rigged in our history.  Or, perhaps not, because, does it really matter who’s elected when the very apparatus of our representative government has been rotted out by reliance on executive action and secretive treaties like the Trans-Pacific Partnership, between global, corporate entities that supersede our sovereignty?   As we solider on, you will find me voting with my conscience and my dollars, but placing my trust in God.

One American, 2014

eagle2013 was a tough year for freedom, here in America and around the world.  But as we saw with the crisis in Syria, we will be heard when we stand up collectively and say, “No!”  Thwarting the globalist agenda in Syria was a small victory in a year where liberty took some major blows.  As we head into another year of looming financial and environmental disasters, corrupt politics and massive media distractions, I thought it important to reflect on the reasons I started this blog back in August.  Already, 2014 promises to be a touchstone year for how this battle will play out.  Fukushima is near total meltdown with the Earth basking in deadly radiation, teenagers mindlessly rampage throughout suburbia and an “unknown” virus is on the loose.  Meanwhile, the dear leader is conveniently on a two-week family vacation in Hawaii playing golf.  We must, as a nation and a species, wake up from our trance!

08/24/13: One American (An Introduction)

With politics more divisive than ever, it’s nothing special when another political blog pops up featuring the hallmark, “I want my country back!” rant.  It’s just another red-state, right-wing, rifle-toting redneck who somehow managed to figure his way ‘round the internet, right?  Or, it’s one of these regular, disenfranchised, middle-aged white guys just looking out for their families, who turn into raging xenophobes when their wallet is targeted.  Except, if you read a little further, you’ll see I don’t quite fit these profiles, and that’s important.  Because those who seek to control you want you to believe there is no common ground among the American people; they want our country polarized and divided, because it serves their purposes.

I was born in 1975 and grew up in a working-class family in the San Francisco Bay Area.  My dad was a Portuguese immigrant and my mom was born in Mississippi to Scotch-Irish parents.  Upon their families converging in California, they met and married.  My dad was a Teamster and drove a forklift.  My mom became a teacher and also worked at a semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley.  Our household was white, blue-collar and Democrat.  Ours was that mythical, normal, suburban life.  You know, Cub Scouts, soccer, skateboards and Nintendo.  We shared that lifestyle with families from many different backgrounds:  Black, Filipino, Korean, Mexican, Indian, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc.  And on Independence Day, we would all have block parties, barbeques, water balloon fights and shoot off fireworks together.  We were the melting pot.

As a teen, I was repulsed by politics and politicians.  I was spiritually minded, introspective and non-competitive; I leaned about as far left as possible in my manner of thinking.  Eventually, I reasoned I should be a good citizen and participate in the election process, so I cast my first vote for Bill Clinton, who defeated Bob Dole (and Ross Perot) in 1996.  In the 2000 election, not impressed with either George Bush or Al Gore, I voted for Ralph Nader on the Green Party ticket.  The events of September 11, 2001 changed my trajectory.  I remember wondering to myself that day why our jets weren’t in the air within hours.  Why the delay?  I started to open my eyes, but not in the way you might be inclined to think.  I didn’t develop a fear of Osama Bin Laden or Muslims.  Living in the Bay Area gifted me with great cultural diversity.  I had friends and classmates who were Muslim.  I studied world religions in college and as a personal interest.  I read poetry by Rumi.  When the Bush Administration decided to invade Iraq in 2003, despite no evidence of weapons of mass destruction, I started having serious doubts about the true motives of our government.  I remember the distinct feeling that something was wrong while watching the media coverage of the “shock and awe” bombardment of Baghdad.  In 2004, I voted for John Kerry and in 2008, I voted for Barack Obama, disillusioned with the declining state of the nation under Bush, but hopeful.  In 2012, I decided not to give Obama my vote for a second term and instead voted for Gary Johnson, candidate for the Libertarian Party.

The truth is, I’m not a Libertarian.  I’m not a Liberal.  I’m not a Conservative.  I’m not a Progressive.  I’m not a Democrat or a Republican.  I’m not the Tea Party.  I’m not a Socialist, a Communist or a Capitalist.  I’m not an environmentalist.  I’m not Occupy.  I’m not Anonymous.  I’m not an anarchist.  I’m not a conspiracy-theorist.  I’m not LGBT.  I’m not a Portuguese-Scotch-Irish-American.  In other words, I don’t have an agenda.  I am One American.  And I don’t own a gun… yet.

Without disparaging these groups, I have to ask, why are we, as a nation of individuals, so inclined to identify ourselves so narrowly?  Liberals are not liberal and Conservatives are not conservative.  I started this blog, in part, to demonstrate that despite our differences and contrary to what the media conditions you to believe, we all have a lot more in common.  And, we all have a lot at stake.  I am proud to be an American.  I love American culture.  I love American values.  I don’t believe in “tolerance” I believe in celebrating and embracing diversity.  I love all people.  I believe in family.  I believe in humanity.  I believe in love and compassion.  I believe in freedom.

Fully acknowledging the many blemishes on the history of the United States of America and the imperfections of the men who founded our country and wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, the ideals that we, as Americans, value and aspire to are noble and unmatched in the history of Western civilization.  The values of liberty, truth and justice are worth fighting for.  The errors of the past and present should be held up to this light and made right.  Even if one argues that the Constitution was not originally meant to protect Natives, or Blacks or women or immigrants, it shall, by will of the people.  The problem is, the idea of “government of the people, by the people, for the people” is rapidly being washed awayOur ability to function as a free nation will end if we do not identify the true enemies of freedom and stop them.  In America, the idea of representative government has been usurped by subservience to special interest groups, the military-industrial complex, multi-national corporations and banks.  In this type of society you are not a citizen, you are a subject.

The First Amendment of the Constitution guarantees my freedom of speech.  Despite this, for what I have just written in these few paragraphs, I can now be targeted by our government as a potential terrorist.  That should be disturbing to anyone reading this blog.  In fact, to be considered a terrorist, you no longer need to express disdain for the government, you merely need to proclaim support for the Constitution or the Bill of Rights.  If you’re a veteran returning from war or you proudly display the American flag, you’re dangerous.  I have always been an independent thinker.  As such, I have witnessed my own philosophy and world view morph several times.  Now it’s beginning to crystallize.  My core values and beliefs, those which have been constant throughout, have triggered an alarm inside me.  I am distraught.  Even I, not being a member of any Tea Party group, not owning a gun, not being particularly religious, can see the injustice of the IRS targeting conservative groups.  Perhaps you think this is ok, since you don’t agree with Tea Party politics.  But the fact of the matter is, wrong is wrong.  It is not politically relative.  They’re coming for everyone, eventually.  They’re coming for you too.

Those crying “I want my country back” can’t be so narrowly categorized anymore.  We’re not all “bitter clingers” or “joe sixpacks”.  We are students, engineers, laborers, farmers, veterans, journalists, police officers, taxi drivers, scientists, artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, truckers, doctors, teachers, designers, athletes, mechanics, small business owners- people from all walks of life and ethnic backgrounds.

Ironically, in 2004 I stood on a street corner in Northern California with my wife, who is Lakota, and our newborn daughter holding a sign reading “Iraq Lies Cost Lives”.  Even in “liberal” California I was cursed at and threatened.  It distresses me to see people who so vehemently opposed the Iraq War and then President George W. Bush, now lining up in support of President Obama, when he has only extended and deepened Bush’s abuses of executive power.  We are a label-handicapped society.  Is this irrational support of Obama because he’s a Democrat?  Is it because he’s a Liberal?  Is it because he’s Black?  Now, as I witness liberty groups, defenders of the Constitution, gun owners and people opposing President Obama’s policies being labeled as racists and potential terrorists, I have to wonder, who do they think we are?  If you and I are the enemy, who are they?

The War On Christmas: Evidence Of Dumbed Down America

In the bizarre 1959 Mexican film Santa Claus (or Santa Claus vs. The Devil as it is popularly known), Santa dwells high above the North Pole in a cloud fortress, and through the help of Merlin (yes, the wizard) and some snazzy space-age technology, distributes gifts to the children of the world on Christmas Eve.  The Devil, always out to ruin Christmas, sends his minion Pitch to foil Santa’s mission.  The layers of meaning here are incalculable.  Equally unadulterated and preposterous, the film illustrates with uncanny vision the profound confusion most Americans retain when it comes to Christmas.  Feliz Navidad!

If you are a Christian of the Evangelical or Fundamentalist bent, you might be inclined to see Santa Claus as an enemy of Jesus- part Catholic saint, part agent of American consumerism- sent forth by reindeer-drawn sleigh to shroud the true meaning of Christmas with presents and candy canes.  It seems logical for Santa to be in cahoots with Merlin, that would make Santa an ally of the Devil.  Do not put your trust in warlocks and exalted pagan saints!  Only Jesus can defeat Satan and his followers!

We Christians say “Merry Christmas”.  “Xmas” takes Christ out of Christmas!  To hell with “Happy Holidays” and other non-Christian expressions!  We sing O Holy Night and Away In A Manger dammit!  We decorate a Christmas tree, not a holiday tree!  To hell with Frosty and Rudolph and to hell with acknowledging other faiths who also celebrate the Winter Solstice in disguise!  Wait, what?  Yes, this is shaping up to be an epic One American rant.

In the weeks leading up to Christmas Day, Facebook and other social media sites have been littered with angry and defensive declarations like, “It’s not Happy Holidays, it’s Merry Christmas!  Share if you agree!”, lashing out against attempts to secularize Christmas by removing any mention of the birth of Jesus Christ.  But is there really a “war” on Christmas?  Well, yes and no.  You see, this whole separation of church and state idea has been completely bastardized from its original, Constitutional meaning.  The Constitution only forbids the state from making an establishment of religion.  The Constitution does not forbid the singing of Christmas carols in public school.  It does not forbid a public display of the Ten Commandments.  As Americans, do we not understand the difference between the free exercise of religion and the government declaring an official religion (or banning religion altogether)?  In this country, the Hare Krishnas have every right to dance around on the street corner as a preacher has a right to stand on the same street corner warning of Armageddon.  As Americans increasingly fall victim to poor education and corporate manipulation, the debate over the celebration of Christmas in a capitalist, secular society gets more and more nebulous.

There has been a backlash from Christians who feel like the true meaning of Christmas is under attack, and understandably so.  This year, a fifth grade choir in Long Island, New York performed an altered version of the traditional Christmas hymn, Silent Night.  “The children at Ralph J. Osgood Intermediate School did not sing the line “’round yon virgin, mother and child,” or the line “Christ the Savior is born,” reported WNBC New York.  Obviously, this is highly offensive to people of Christian faith; the song is about the birth of Christ, not some quasi-spiritual Winter’s eve.  The school board issued an apology to parents who were upset about the omissions in the song.  This is just one of many examples of infringement on our Constitutional freedom of religion.  It does sometimes appear as if Christianity is under attack, but the response from many Christians has been equally as ridiculous.  While I have heard many measured responses to this sort of nonsense, I’ve also heard many statements like, “America is a Christian nation, love it or leave it.”  In their eyes, Christmas should be the only celebration acknowledged this time of year.  If you don’t accept Jesus Christ as your savior, then you should remain in the shadows where you belong.  A decade ago, Wiccans were under attack for wearing pentacles, with teens being accused of being Satanists and sent home from school.  Now Christian kids are being told they cannot wear crucifixes, pray or read from the Bible on school grounds.

Growing up as kids, if we, in our ignorance, happened to greet a Jewish person with “Merry Christmas!” they would generally reply, “Oh sweetie, we’re Jewish, we celebrate Hanukkah,” to which we would in turn reply, “Oh.  Well, Happy Hanukkah then!”  Done and done.  In a civilized society, we educate each other and through that process, learn to coexist.  The problem with political correctness is that it does not originate with the people, it originates from special interest groups.  In our quest to never offend, political correctness has warped and perverted the natural evolution of an increasingly more multicultural society.  When it comes to religious holidays, political correctness seeks to strip away meaning and tradition and replace it with sanitized, all-encompassing, non-religious symbolism:  A tree, a star, a snowflake, a toy soldier.  Today’s graphic on Google’s homepage is an illustration of a city street in Winter.  The buildings are decorated with Christmas lights and there is a car with a Christmas tree strapped to its roof.  If you mouse-over the graphic it simply says, “‘Tis the season!”  Google wouldn’t dare use a graphic of the Nativity or have a mouse-over that says, “Merry Christmas!”  Why?  Because Jewish people use Google too.  And so do Muslims and Buddhists and atheists.  We don’t want to impose our religion on them.  We don’t want them to feel left out.  Maybe I should capitalize it: Atheists; I wouldn’t want them to feel like they’re any less significant than people of faith.

Here’s a curve-ball for all those conservative celebrities rambling on about the “war” on Christmas: most of the illegal immigrants crossing the border into the United States from Mexico and Central America are Roman Catholics who celebrate Christmas.  As the population balloons with illegals, it seems there is more of an incentive than ever to acknowledge this most holy of Christian holidays as such: Jesus Christ was born on December 25th, two-thousand and thirteen years ago.

Let us first establish that Jesus of Nazareth was not born on December 25th.  The exact date of his birth is not known to history or revealed in biblical accounts of his birth.  The reason Christians celebrate his birth on this date is because it was officially declared by Pope Julius I in the 4th Century A.D.  The exact reason for this is cause for debate, but it is presumable that the date was purposely chosen to compete with or coincide with other, existing celebrations occurring around the same time; most notable among these are the Jewish Hanukkah and Roman Saturnalia, marking the Winter Solstice.  Interpretatio christiana was the doctrine by which the early Church rebranded pagan festivals, rites and temples for worship of the Christian God.  They surmised that Christian teachings would encounter less resistance from the heathen if superimposed over their local traditions, as they set about in their Christianization of the Mediterranean, Europe and the Near East.

The fact that I even need to explain this is embarrassing.  Christmas, as celebrated in America today, is a conglomerate of Christian theology and pre-Christian, European traditions and folklore.  It is generally agreed upon by scholars that the legend of Santa Claus is based both on the 4th Century Greek bishop Saint Nicholas, who was known for his charitable gift giving, and the Dutch character Sinterklaas, a white-haired, bearded holy man dressed in red and white, with a long red cape, who carries a shepherd’s staff and a big book, where he keeps written the names of good children and bad children.  Parallels between Sinterklaas and the Germanic god Odin have also been drawn.  Sinterklaas rides the rooftops with his white horse and has mischievous helpers who listen at chimney tops to hear if children are being bad or good.  Odin rides across the sky with his horse Sleipnir and has two ravens at his employ, Huginn and Muninn, who travel about and report back to him.  It is conceivable that reindeer were substituted for the horse as the story spread to North America.  The tradition of the Christmas tree, decorated with candles and ornaments can also be traced back to Germany and may possibly be linked to an earlier custom of decorating the home with evergreens in Winter.  During the Christianization of Germany and Scandinavia, the celebration of Christmas also absorbed elements of the pagan festival Yule, celebrated in December.  Modern traditions including the burning of the Yule log, feast of the Christmas ham, caroling and even the toast at mealtime can all be traced back to the celebration of Yule and Odin’s Wild Hunt.

So the question is, do you partake in any of these traditions with your family?  Do you entice your children to get to bed early on Christmas Eve so Santa can load up the Christmas tree with gifts?  Do you clomp through the snow at night, going door-to-door with a group of reluctant neighbors singing We Three Kings?  Do you stagger to your feet at Christmas dinner to praise Aunt Carolyn’s miraculous zwieback crust cheesecake before downing another glass of champagne?  If so, then you have participated in a glorious pagan rite!  These traditions intrinsically link us all together as human beings.  Instead of seeking to distill and define the “true” meaning of Christmas, we should recognize the wonderful, muddled history of it all.  Instead of stripping the holidays of all their significance and restricting where, when and how they should be celebrated, we should be allowing the free expression of all traditions.  We have the freedom to participate or not participate, but we do not have the authority to regulate other celebrations.

It’s not so much that there’s a war on Christmas, there is a war on freedom.  Christians are just one spoke on a wheel of constantly revolving victimization.  The reason?  Everyone wants to wrangle the Constitution into their corner and use it to restrict others.  The rights of all citizens need to be protected.  I find it hard to fault those who, in their desire to be more inclusive, use expressions like “Season’s Greetings”, but at the same time there is no reason to exclude the mention of Jesus Christ when talking about Christmas.  We should not live in fear of our neighbors who may be different than us.  We should fear the puppet master.  We should fear the authoritarians who wage war against culture, and pit race against race and religion against religion.  We should beware of those who wish to commercialize our sacred traditions.  Stand up for your right to believe and worship as your God commands.  Stand up for your right to live according to your conscience.  But also be a defender of everyone’s right to do the same, lest the wheel turn toward you.


Don’t Worry Barry, You’re Safe.

obamaOn November 19th, three days before the fiftieth anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination, somebody by the name of Everest Wilhelmsen posted an apparent threat against President Obama on his Facebook page:

“We now have authority to shoot Obama, i.e., to kill him. His willful violations and alienation of our Constitution, constant disregard for our peaceful protests and corruption of all the three branches of government, (i.e., rogue and illegitimate government), reveal the dictator that he is. Obama and his co-conspirators disrespect our Constitution (constitutional rule of law) and abuse the American people.  The authority to kill Obama comes from the 2nd Amendment of our Constitution: He is levying war on the United States and aiding and comforting our foreign enemies – the 2nd Amendment gives us the right and duty (authority) to engage an enemy of the United States that does so with the design to reduce us under absolute Despotism. I would be very surprised, if Obama does not leave Washington DC today (Nov. 19th) … never to return, if he is not dead within the month. PLEASE JOIN US AT CHRISTIAN AMERICAN PATRIOTS MILITIA: https://www.facebook.com/groups/417199228403274”

Most of the media is describing Wilhelmsen as the leader of a right-wing militia group, the Christian American Patriots Militia.  Excuse my snickering, but really?  To be specific, Everest Wilhelmsen is the administrator of a Facebook group called Christian American Patriots Militia.  As far as anybody knows, there is no actual militia, no compound and no stash of weapons.  In fact, a simple Google search turns up no website, manifesto or other discussion about Mr. Wilhelmsen or the Christian American Patriots Militia- only the aforementioned Facebook pages and other articles about the so-called “threat”.  I don’t buy it.  I dunno, maybe it’s the group’s name, Christian American Patriots Militia, and the fact that all of these groups are currently being attacked by the Obama Administration and portrayed as potential terrorists: Christians, Americans, patriots and militia groups.  How convenient, right?  What better excuse would the Administration need to escalate the crackdown on their enemies than “evidence” those crazy freedom lovers are beginning to talk armed revolution?  Is the next “threat” on Obama’s life going to come from the Racist Tea Party Veterans Militia?  Or perhaps the Gun Owners Against Obamacare Militia?

I decided to analyze this a little further.  Upon visiting Wilhelmsen’s page on Facebook, I must say that it appears legit, in other words, it appears to be created by a real person and not a fabricated profile and timeline created by a government operative.  While the original post from November 19th has been removed, the rest of the page is intact.  Incidentally, he’s still posting, with his most recent update occurring on November 23rd- a link to a WordPress blog post by a man named Thomas Mick entitled “The Duty of Our Oath”.  Wilhelmsen’s posts seem to be in line with a person having a conservative Christian bent.  With the exception of his anti-Muslim beliefs, I found myself to be mostly in agreement with his politics.  He’s definitely anti-Obama, anti-police state and pro-Constitution.  The page for the Christian American Patriots Militia currently has over 1,500 group members.  I didn’t care to join the group, so I couldn’t see any content, although the page’s cover image depicting the nation’s Capitol (in the layout of a cross) and Jesus cracking a whip at a group of suits was illuminating.  Poking around a little more, I also discovered a WordPress blog apparently authored by Wilhlmsen entitled ofthehighest, where he discusses law and human rights.  Featured prominently on the homepage is an article discussing “Grundgesetz”, which is Germany’s Basic Law (Constitution).  According to the article, one of the fundamental principles of Grundgesetz is the idea that “All state authority emanates from the people”.  Many of Wilhelmsen’s Facebook posts are re-posts from his blog or shares from other Islamaphobic Facebook pages.

What can we gather from all this?  Everest Wilhelmsen believes the world is being overrun with Muslims bent on destroying all of Christendom.  He apparently also believes the United States to be a Christian nation, and that President Obama is secretly a Muslim working to undermine American values and pave the way for Sharia law to supplant the Constitution.  Paranoid anyone?  I will agree that the persecution of Christians by Islamic radicals around the world is intolerable and the lack of outrage from Christians is puzzling.  Since the events of September 11th, 2001, Muslims have become a protected group, and criticism of Islam- even the horrendous actions of radical jihadists, is routinely ignored by the media.  This behavior has arisen from a flawed belief that America deserved to be attacked on September 11th because of our meddling in the Muslim world, and much of Obama’s foreign policy has been aimed at appeasing Muslims.  Certainly President Obama, in concert with Congress and the Supreme Court, has done plenty to weaken our Constitution and further the expansion of the authoritarian police state, but not because he is secretly a Muslim; he is a puppet working to acclimate Americans to globalist rule.  To view all Muslims as enemies is ignorant, and the United States is not a strictly Christian nation, although we should not deny the strong Christian influence on our nation’s founding.  If Wilhelmsen claims to be a supporter of the Constitution, then he clearly understands the government is forbidden from creating an establishment of religion, therefore, Christianity can not be declared the official national religion of the United States anymore than Islam or any other faith.  Likewise, the Constitution also prevents the government from interfering with the free exercise of religion- any religion.  Let’s not forget that atrocities in the name of God have also been perpetrated by Christians throughout history.  Any human being possessing the Spirit of the Creator, regardless of religious tradition, should denounce evil wherever it is found.

Assuming Wilhelmsen and his Facebook group are real, as my investigation suggests, did his post constitute a real threat to President Obama?  Hardly.  His statement suggests that under the Second Amendment of the Constitution, the people have the authority to engage an enemy of the United States, but it is Article Three of the United States Constitution which discusses treason:

“Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.”

Whether or not that description applies to President Obama is debatable, but Wilhelmsen seems to be playing legal hopscotch between the Second Amendment, Article Three of the Constitution and the oaths that all elected officials and members of the Armed Forces take, whereby they swear to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

If we are to believe the propaganda that passes for journalism in this country, just weeks ago, a shooter with a note in his bag entered LAX airport aiming to “kill TSA and pigs” because his Constitutional rights were being infringed upon.  If recent incidents like these are not false flags, could it be that frustration with Obama’s tyrannical regime is beginning to culminate in these sorts of imprudent actions?  I wonder.  It is interesting to note that while the media has made a big fuss over Wilhelmsen’s post, in their ceaseless campaign to demonize the Right, why is it that he’s still posting updates on Facebook and not in an FBI interrogation room?  If President Obama was really in danger, don’t you think he’d be giving speeches behind bullet-proof glass?  I mean, wouldn’t that be smart anyways, considering he’s the nation’s first Black president, what with all those racist Tea Party wackos out there just waiting for their opportunity to pick him off?  The reality is, racism in America is overblown.  It is the Obama Administration and phony civil rights activists like Al Sharpton who are mostly responsible for stirring up racial and class tensions.  After all, it took a majority of White, middle-class voters to elect Obama.  The so-called enemies of the state are law abiding citizens, standing against a criminal government.  It takes a trained professional to kill a president.  At this stage in the game, the powers that be have little to fear from Christian patriots or Cletus and his shotgun.

Kennedy may have been America’s last real president, and he was killed.  Martin Luther King Jr. was a real civil rights activist, and he was killed.  When Malcolm X split from the Nation of Islam, abandoned its Black supremacist ideologies and began to speak of human rights, equality and peace, he was murdered.  President Obama likes to compare himself to Martin Luther King Jr. and Abraham Lincoln, but he is far from either.  Not that any man is without faults, but it seems to me it is the good people in the line of fire. As long as you are doing the bidding of your corporate controllers, you’re safe.  And Obama fits that profile perfectly.  It really doesn’t matter if he’s Black or White, Christian or Muslim, Republican or Democrat; these are insignificant details.  Just don’t go getting a conscience or anything Barry, otherwise be on the watch for CIA assassins.
